This card won't see play beyond the novelty factor.

Ironically, Lodestone Golem will!

I fail to see how 5/3 Spheres are ironic...but as for this card, I don't see it replacing Claim and/or Grudge as artifact hate.  I'm more disappointed that they didn't make a castable creature with Annihilator.

Yeah, the card I wanted out of this set was a 3 mana 2/2 ARTIFACT creature with annihilator 1.  That was definitely not to be.

Funny, I wanted Emrakul to be a goblin :p

That was never going to happen, as the eldrazi were NOT artifact creatures.
Not to mention the fact that that card is retardedly overpowered in standard.

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.

Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops.  I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.

Not to derail the thread too far, but I think standard is much better equipped to deal with a 2/2 than vintage.  They might, you know, block/bolt/path/Master of the Wild Hunt/Burst Lightning/etc it.  Having played a fair bit with cards that are trash in the context of standard (Goblin Vandal, Wort, and Earwig Squad I'm looking at you), I can say that our format is stupid light on removal.

even so, that creature could easily come out on turn 2 on the play, and demands an answer instantly or you lose instantly.

Oh man, TheShop, you are bitching way more about this irrelevant card than every Dredge player ever has about Yixlid Jailer, Ravenous Trap and Bojuka Bog =D

Seriously, why? The most frequently played Shopdeck here in Germany or even the whole Europe is AggroMUD which currently doesn't even play Smokestacks. This guy won't prevent them from bashing your face in with multiple fatties, especially the Sphere-Jugger.

I mean, yes, it may shut off Emrakul's most devastating ability, but as you said, OMG IT'S A CREATURE!!! IT BLOWS AGAINST OATH!!!

This guy really just shuts off 3 1/2 cards maximum in the whole format: Smokestack, Diabolic Edict, Possessed Portal and to a degree Emrakul. However, a 15/15 Flying beatstick with semi-protection is still deadly. It may generate a standoff with Platinum Angel against Sharuum-Dredge's Possessed Portal, but even in this worst-case scenario, the card Darkblast comes to crush you then.

This will most likely not see any play in Vintage.

I knew they weren't artifacts, and that the creature was retardedly strong,  even at a 4 mana artifact that card would make me happy.  And in vintage it would be less irritating than smoketack.

This thread is a mess and in no way, shape or form even relevant. There is no real discussion needed nor going on about this card and I think all that has to be said was said.

LOCKED.
