What is the most competive non-proxy deck I can play with my card pool?

I am looking at playing my first Vintage tournament in 6 years. I don't think any proxies are permitted. I have all of the expensive and not expensive staple cards from 2004 except for Timevault, workshop, and Bazzaar, (in other words I have all duals, the P10+Drains). I also have almost all of the legacy staples Goyf, Wasteland, FOW, etc., etc. I have no idea what the metagame is, and of notable exception to the sub 100 rares I do not have Oath of Druids. This tournament may not even happen so I don't want to go investing a lot of money into it but I would like to bring something competitve to the table. Reccomendations?

TPS is still strong as long as you don;t have to fight shops all day (unlikely if no proxies are allowed as shop decks are often quite expensive). It's a nice choice for a diverse metagame. just make sure you goldfish it quite a bit and test against someone as good as you playing a control deck.

You can play Fish (likely Noble), you could play Oath if you picked up a few Oaths for less than $20 (unless they have changed in price), you could also play TPS like Killane posted.  Those are the closest to tier 1 if not tier 1.  

Assuming you have the right cards which it sounds like you do, you could play Goblins, Dark Depths, etc.

Really your limitations are artifact based decks (Workshops), Tezz (Time Vault) and Dredge (Bazaar).  I would probably suggest that you play Fish, it will likely take the least amount of time to get comfortable with it.

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually have cards to play ANT. However, I don't have an imperial seal and I have 1 grim tutor.  Fish I could play, and I could try to get Oaths fast.

How much experience do you have with combo decks?  If the answer is very little, then like Killane mentioned, you need to test the hell out of it.  It is a very difficult deck to pick up and play quickly.  If you have less than 2 weeks or so until the tournament, then I would suggest something a little bit more straightforward and likely as powerful or nearly as powerful.

I don't have a lot of time to play test. I played a lot of Control Slaver, Landstill, and Draw 7 back in the day. Now I usually play zoo or counter top in legacy.

If you want to have a good time, Zoo doesn't require a lot of format knowledge and is pretty straightforward. There are a number of turn 3 kill hands.
