Jimmy McCarthy of Team Serious and Team Meandeck fame recently won the Xtreme Games Vintage tournament this past weekend with UW Serious Bomberman. He went an awesome 7-0-1 in the event, including 14-0 in games played! Read his report and decklist after the jump!

This decks reminds me of the Bomberman piles I used to play back in the day, that somehow, managed to work well.  If I played that deck, I would probably add 1-2 more combo hate in the SB and probably take out the Balance for a Disenchant/Swords.  Everything else looks good.

"After these years of arguing I've conceded that Merchant Scroll in particular can be an exception to this rule because it is a card that you NEVER want to see in multiples, under any circumstances. Merchant Scroll can be seen as restricted in a way because should you have 2 in a hand, only one is really useful (that is, only one can get Ancestral)."

IDK why he's gunna need combo hate.  He rolled it when he played.  I'm pretty sure I was the only one who even tried to give him resistance throughout the whole tournament as far as combo players go.   His draws were unreal.  Never once did he topdeck a Salvagers or Trinket Mage when he NEEDED something else.

*whine whine whine forget where I misplayed and lost a game I could have won*

Seriously thought, I agree on more combo hate.  I think I even said as much in the report.  I'm not sure what cards exactly, but just something to board in for that matchup.

Also, I didn't mention it but I also balanced against Alex to just kill two of his lands.  I would probably play it maindeck again, because it lets you climb back into games where you've fallen way behind either onboard or in hand size.

Seriously thought, my deck is just dead to combo.  I literally had nothing, except opening on Ancestral + Fow in 3 games against Soly and  turn 2 jace + drain in 2 of those same games against him.  I could have drawn one of my 6 creatures, or 4 dead artifacts, or my plowshares or extra mana or whatever but i drew the balls and won.

FTFY    Surprised

Anyway;  I'm just kidding about it, so whatever.   It took you until dinner 20 minutes later to realize I had a stack to kill you with.  That's just me throwing my deck together with 0 testing.  oh well.

COngrats!

I have UW Bomberman sleeved up and under 10 proxies. I MIGHT have played it this weekend, but alas, couldn't go.

I have been testing 4 Leyline of ANticipation, but testing shows that 0-2 is the correct number, and NOT 4. Smile

Glad to see Bomberman pwn a field again.

EDIT: Also, WHOOT! TOurney reports all in one place, yes!

Congrats on the finish.

Would there be any changes you would make to the decklist?
