Hey, i was just toying around some years ago, in the Alara Block, with the Idea using Salvage Titan in a Black Staxx along with Bazaars, making him somehow working like a Squee. Well i tried again, and it didn't work so very well, so i cutted him, but tweaked a bit more..I like the Idea dropping 1st Turn Bazaar, and 2nd Turn drop Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, to get Value of the First land drop. Another interesting Tech i have seen, was using Petrified Field in Mud, in the Flex Slots of the Manabase.

So where the things were going i noticed Bloodghast in Stax, its not the ubertech but can be nice. Things got a bit messed up in the list, and i thought of maindecking Serum Powder, and maybe get some Dredgeish Sideboard Plans, but it just doesn't work, when the list is 60 card Maindeck.

I really would love to play maindeck Null Rod, but with the rise of Bug Fish in my meta, i decided to go with Dismember, wich do a great job in the mirror too.

Enough of the talk, there is the list:

4 Mishra's Workshop
4 Bazaar of Baghdad
4 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
3 Wasteland
4 Petrified Field
1 Tolarian Academy
1 Strip Mine
1 Mox Emerald
1 Mox Jet
1 Mox Pearl
1 Mox Ruby
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Sol Ring
1 Mana Crypt
2 Crucible of Worlds
4 Bloodghast
4 Lodestone Golem
4 Chalice of the Void
4 Sphere of Resistance
1 Trinisphere
3 Tangle Wire
3 Smokestack
3 Phyrexian Metamorph
4 Dismember
SB: 4 Ensnaring Bridge
SB: 4 Null Rod
SB: 4 Leyline of the Void
SB: 3 Bojuka Bog

Not really tested out, i am still on it, but i guess this is something where i would like toy around a bit more. A question which could come up, is why play Bloodghast, instead of just running Mishra's Factories. There is no Lotus, no Mana Vault, but its really tight to find deck space, and permanent Manascoures are a good thing in Stax. I like the Idea using Bazaars over Serum Powders, because they can filter your cards into more pressure, or when they become handy in situations, where you have to immediatly answer a threat with Dismember, or Phyrexian Metamorph.

I would like to play Nether Void, Braids, and many other cards, but they are to reliying on black mana, and i hate having double Shop, and not beeing able to cast the Gas, because the spells are colored.

Somehow i have the intension of playing Md Null Rod in the Dismember Slot, but i guess its not what the meta gives.

Thoguhts?

I feel like if you're going to go the Bazaar route in Stax you really should be running Goblin Welders. That card has the most synergy with Bazaar of almost any card you could play.

Yes i agree. My problem is that he gets Missteped, Bolted, or Decayed all day.. but maybe its my own phobia. I wouldn't feel happy, if i would set my horses on Cavern of Souls, to get him safely dropped.

If you really want a strong engine within your black bazaar/workshop shell I'd suggest Dark Confidant. It turns bazaar of Baghdad into a pseudo Impulse and if you toss in Goblin Welder it turns into a pretty beastly draw engine.

Last time I played Black Stax, Chains of Mephistopheles was really nice in it. Also seconding the suggestion to add Bob.

Chains of Mephistopheles doesn't interact favorably with Bazaar of Baghdad.

Bob sounds quite great, I will give it a test, and kick the Dismember. Dismember was quite good in testing, but I am not sold to anything. More Killoptions that do their deed building up more pressure are alway good.

Seems that i go with Cabal Pit over Petrified Field. Petrified Field is obviously good with Bazaar and Bloodghast, and i liked the option to fetch a Field with a Field, to get Landfall trigger, for running Smokey without Crucible on the table.

But whatever, I am really surpised how strong Bazaar is on its own. I learned from the beginning, that its a card in Shops when playing Welders. But just going to 2 Handcards back, Bazaaring in the best of 4 is really awesome, since Shops have no real way to manipulate their Library. No idea what would happen in a mono Artifact List (Mud), with Ancient Tombs and Uba Mask, I guess its way better than it sounds, also there is Buried Ruins, a card that could also be nasty in an Uba Bazaar Mud.

The last time I played Blax chains cost $160 less...

Chains does work well with bazaar because it allows you to mill 4 with a crucible or welder(RB) engine like Twaun's prior lists.  Also, chains typically hurts them more than you and falls into the category of symetrical effects that you are attempting to leverage.

I don't like those lists in the current meta because they took early turns to develop.  The RB list was better against slow tezz lists of the past.  Current hate is much more dense because of the prevalence of MUD.

The biggest problem with chains is that brainstorm and thirst are restricted.  Gush's in restriction helped chains, but big blue with bob's will ignore your lock component.

I am not the big Testingmachine lateley, but I was about figuring out, if Salvage Titan could not find some Slots. Idea is easy, having a Squee Effekt, and to fish im out of the Grave to hardcast him to give this Deck another clock. Well he was quite fine sometimes, but in the first two Turns you often have not enough Artifacts in Grave for running the Squee plan.

I fixed the Sideboard, the one from the List above is way to friendly:

SB: 3 Ensnaring Bridge
SB: 3 Null Rod
SB: 4 Grafdigger's Cage
SB: 3 Tormod's Crypt
SB: 2 Salvage Titan

MD is -1 Dismember +1 Salvage Titan. The thought behind the Titans that leaded me to test them again was, that when I board in Cages against Oath to not Deck me accidently, by putting all Golems to the Grave, because I board out the Bloodghasts He isn't that bad as he looks, but I am still unsure if he is just too cute.

To the Bob plan, I decided to go the route of copying my Opponent's one with Metamorph. Great idea huh ^^?

I am just like "why not share my thoughts". I really like Blaxx, and would love giving it a spark.. so its just going around my mind from time to time. Yesterday I was going to meet a friend for playtesting, and on the way to the bus I got an idea.

I thought of, well Darkblast would be cool, but no there is Chalice@1... then I was like, cut Chalice and put in Torpor Orb and Dreadnought... but no these Days are gone. A fast Combo Win would be nice, and i thought of cutting Bazaars for Dark Depths, both don't produce mana, and cut Petrified Field for Thespian's Stage.

So Manabase would be like:

4 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
4 Dark Depths
4 Thespian's Stage
3 Wasteland
1 Strip Mine
4 Mishra's Workshop
1 Tolarian Academy

Possible, or brainfart?

//EDIT: something like this

4 Mishra's Workshop
4 Dark Depths
4 Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
3 Wasteland
4 Thespian's Stage
1 Tolarian Academy
1 Strip Mine
1 Black Lotus
1 Mox Emerald
1 Mox Jet
1 Mox Pearl
1 Mox Ruby
1 Mox Sapphire
1 Sol Ring
1 Mana Crypt
2 Crucible of Worlds
3 Phyrexian Revoker
4 Lodestone Golem
4 Chalice of the Void
4 Sphere of Resistance
1 Trinisphere
4 Tangle Wire
3 Smokestack
3 Phyrexian Metamorph
3 Dismember
