I'm looking to rebuild some of the communities that are central to a few of the stores on Long Island, and this means that I'm going to be looking to run a few more (smaller) tournaments on a more consistent basis, in addition to all the other events that I run.

Here's the first:

What:

N.Y.S.E. Lite
$10, 15 proxy, non-sanctioned Vintage tournament

Prize Structure:

1st:  Revised Volcanic Island (guaranteed at 8 entrants)
2nd: Polluted Delta (guaranteed at 8 entrants)

Where:

The Comicbook Depot
2847 Jerusalem Avenue
Wantagh, NY 11793-2016
(516) 221-9337

When:

Sunday, August 21st
12pm registration, 1pm start

Looking forward to seeing everybody soon!

We had 16 (!!!) players for today's event, 11 of whom had not played in yesterday's event at Mark's Comics.  To have 25 unique players between the two days events is a tremendous success (especially when virtually none of the Suffolk County guys and none of the NYC guys were able to make the trip.)  My goal has been to build communities around the stores of given areas - I think that's the best way to add players to our community.  That goal seems to be on its way towards becoming a reality.

We cut to top 8, and while I don't know the full top 8, I do know that the top 4 consisted of Shawn Anthony on TPS, Vinnie Forino on W/B Fish, Mike Eckert on Show and Oath and Jake Gans on Minus Six.  In the end Vinnie Forino took out Jake in the finals.  Congrats to Vinnie, Jake and all my top 8 competitors!

Given how successful this event was, I'm going to look to load up on a few more of them in September.  Here's to growing Vintage in New York!

See you all next weekend at the next major N.Y.S.E. tournament!!!

You sure?

What happened to that Ritual Draw 7 thread that went "poof" in the night?
