Due to the vintage event Baltimore there were a few less at Bloom than usual with 19 attending.  A thank you goes out to those of you that decided to come here.

This was the first tournament in a while that I decided to run an established deck instead of a home brew.  So i came up with the following dredge list:
4 Bazaar of Baghdad
4 Serum Powder
4 Golgari Grave-Troll
4 Stinkweed Imp
4 Narcomoeba
4 Bridge from Below
4 Bloodghast
4 Cabal Therapy
4 Undiscovered Paradise
2 Petrified Field
4 Ichorid
2 Golgari Thug
1 Dakmor Salvage
4 Leyline of the Void
4 Unmask
1 Nature’s Claim
1 Chain of Vapor
1 Vampiric Tutor
1 Imperial Seal
1 Ancient Grudge
2 Firestorm

SB:
3 Chain of Vapor
3 Nature’s Claim
4 City of Brass
1 Ancestral Recall
3 Leyline of Sanctity
1 Darkblast

Since i found myself boarding out my dread return package in almost every match up I decided to cut it from the deck all together to improve my game 2 and 3 win percentage.

Round 1 - John Richards playing Aggro MUD
Due to losing a stinkweed imp from my deck and not being able to find it game 1 was awarded to John.  Not really how i would've like to have started.
Game 2-  I mulligan a few times to get a Bazaar,  I also end up having Leyline in opening hand.  he ends up dropping a Precursor Golem and then 2 Phyrexian Metamorphs the Precursor both times.  As a result a play more defensively and start building up a large zombie army until eventually he attacks into me and i kill a bunch of his golems and counter attack for the win.
Game 3- All i remember is that on the last turn i swung for 11 when he was at 11 life due to getting 3 Ichorids back from the yard.
1-0

Round 2 - Shawn Anthony playing East Coast Wins
Game 1 - I have to mulligan down to 1 but I do get the Bazaar.  I end up not getting dredgers fast enough and he assembles vault key on me.
Game 2 - I keep a hand basically hoping he doesnt have Leyline in his opener however he does.
1-1

Round 3 - Ryan Glackin playing Aggro MUD
Game 1 - He strips me but i end up main phase dredging for the win.
Game 2 - He has to mulligan a few times and doesnt get dredge hate so I won.
2-1

Round 4 - Sean Duffy playing Dark Times
Game 1 - He leads with double Leyline, Wasteland so i just scooped.
Game 2 - I have a hand with Bazaar and Chain of Vapor but no land to cast the vapor still i keep the hand.  He has a pregame Leyline, I drop my Bazaar draw my 2 off the bazaar dont find the land and pass.  He proceeds to duress the chain from my hand.  So now i still need the land and I need an answer to the leyline, I draw with bazaar and see a Nature's claim, but no land.  He plays another duress to take my claim.  On my next turn i top deck a land play it and pass at the end of the turn I activate my bazaar to find a chain and bounce his leyline.  I think proceed to begin dredging.  Sean ends up being 1 mana short from being able to vamp for a yawg will and play it on his final turn so I win the game.
Game 3 - He gets a leyline out opening hand again but  I end up getting rid of the leyline and proceed to start dredging he gets rid of my bridges a couple times with by edicting himself and sacrificing hexmage, but then he ends up being 1 mana short from playing and activating a pernicious deed to stop my narcomeobas and bloodghasts from killing him.
3-1

Round 5 - Evan Hundertmark
We are both 3-1 so we just draw into the top 8.
3-1-1

Top 8 - John Richards playing Aggro MUD
Game 1 - He tries to race me with a mishra's factory and phyrexian revoker, but I quickly put him on the defensive
Game 2 - He drops a turn 1 precursor, turn 2 slash panther and revoker.  I try to dig for a land to cast my nature's claim on the precursor but it ends up being a city of brass and I go to exactly 6 for his slash panther and revoker to kill me, he ends up top decking another panther making the brass damage irrelevant.
Game 3 - I played through his hate to get the win.

Top 4 - Matt Gottshall playing White Trash
Game 1 - He keeps a hand of canonist and bunch of strip effects I end up getting there from draw phase dredging.
Game 2 - He plays a few revokers and a later game stoneforge, but none of them become very relevant and I win the game.

Finals - Bill Sees playing Noble Fish
Game 1 - I draw phase dredge my way to victory after being getting my bazaar stripped.
Game 2 - He ends up getting an early Tarmogoyf and some strip effects to slow me down, but i draw 3 bazaars and a petrified field, Im able to keep 1 of my bazaars and end up winning of a large number of zombie tokens.

So yeh I didn't win a single game against a blue deck and still wound up winning.  Thanks again to everyone for showing up, thanks to my opponents for some great games and a special thanks to Matt Gottshall and Shawn Griffiths for lending me the cards I needed to play this.

Congrats on the win.  It seems as if Shawn Anthony and myself are the only people playing dredge hate these days. With the exception of Duffy who has them maindeck all the time. Why Is everyone so greedy and cutting all of they're dredge hate?

First off Grats on your win. and your ruby

secondly
they cut the dredge hate because very few people play it especially at bloomsburg. i would like to think my deck has something to do with the limited number of people willing to play dredge, but i am not really arrogant enough to think that and as you can see even a deck that is anti-dredge can lose to it. thought there was an amazing amount of top decking going on as you can see by the tournament report. he also neglected to mention that in game 2 the turn after he bounced my leyline i played a bob and a sylvan library which he proceeded to claim and darkblast....he needed and drew 6 out of 9 answers in his deck that was over a span of 6 turns

Ty.  And yeh i was definitely getting super lucky against you, especially in game 2.  I dont think there are that few dredge decks at Bloomsburg usually id say there are at least 2 or 3 of them which makes it about 10% of the field, but yeh people dont seem to be devoting the 7 or 8 cards in their 75 to beating dredge and as a result its a favored in those situations.

yeah game two was pretty epic....I don't really see that many dredge players at bloom, without looking back at past events i would think it was more like an average of 1 with some events having 2 or 3 dredge and some events having zero. you also see fish and random creature decks more at bloom, the lower turnout usually means less power blue decks so just about any deck has a good chance as long as it's well constructed or tuned against the meta there

Mine will be getting back in there in time for NYSE on Saturday. Also for all you Shops players keep in mind a Phyrexian Metamorph copying nothing will nerf Bridges.
