I know emakrul has a trigger that delays and allows time for responses, but does BSC/DSC?

The situation arose where my opponent had a sensei top in play and a hand of mystical, BSC, land.  I cast unmask on him.  In response, he cast mystical for tinker.  I had to pull his BSC.  Is he able to activate his top in response to the shuffle and draw tinker before BSC gets shuffled in his deck and messes up his tinker topdeck?  I'm thinking that the discard happens and the replacement effect makes BSC shuffle in before anything can respond.

DSC, BSC and Progenitus all create a replacement effect for being put into the graveyard. There is no way he could draw that Tinker after he let Unmask resolve.

Just to expand on Tempus' response a bit... The only window to actually draw the Tinker is before Unmask resolves (in which case you'd just take the Tinker, obv).

As a replacement effect, the shuffle happens when the discard would (during the resolution of Unmask). Nobody gets priority until the spell has finished resolving, which is why there is no opportunity to activate Top.

I suppose it's mostly the thought that this format is just one big Mistake; and not even a very sophisticated one at that.
Much like humanity itself.
