Big thanks goes out to all that made the trek down here to The Players Guild in Bloomsburg, PA to play some vintage magic. Great to see some new faces, along with all the faithful vintage players that have been coming to these events regularly now. Top 4 were awarded for this event. 1st was the Unlimited Mox Emerald Signed, 2nd was $75 in credit, and 3rd and 4th were $25 in credit. The winning list is missing Mox Sapphire (and if I counted right, is not coincidentally 59 cards).

3 Dark Times
Apparently i run 3 entire copies of my deck within itself......that may have been my fault though we were late and i was dictating my decklist to someone while driving....also the Deck name was supposed to be "Dark Broccoli", not that it really matters Congrats to John Jones who skillfully dodged sadistic sacraments by not playing me, and to everyone else in the top 8. Let's see about making the next event much larger. fill your cars with people.

I was so busy trying to just keep the pen steady as we seemed to hit every bump right at the moment I was in mid-pen-stroke that I seemed to have fudged that one up. Although, running 3 copies of the deck within the deck would be pretty friggin' nutty! Sorry about that one Duffy.

X-2, out on breakers. Got surprised in Rd. 1 by, of all things, a burn deck with Runeflare Traps and Fireblasts that got me off guard. Game 3 was one of the most unreal losses I ever had. I was at 9 with Blightsteel in play, just had to ride out his turn. I had double Force, double blue card in hand. He then proceeded to Smash to Smithereens Blightsteel twice which dealt me 4 total (I Forced the second one to spare the life), I can't remember what he played next, but it got Forced, which put me at exactly 4 when he Fireblasted me for the win. Rd. 2 was Jim Sable running Dark Times. I Time Machined him twice to win (And to think, I actually considered taking Key/Vault out after Grudge Match! I'll never think that again!) Then Duffy got me with Dark Times in Rd. 3 (It was ugly). I got a bye for Rd. 4 and then in the final round I got to face my good friend Josh Olmstead who ran Tyrant Oath, but I got there in 3. The deck is really coming together for me however, and i don't really see many changes on the horizon outside of squeezing in a 3rd Preordain perhaps, as well as fitting in a Flusterstorm in the board.

Is there a reason you didn't just let the smashes resolve? You would take 6, then you would still have double force up and would end up at 1 life even if you had to use both of them.

In retrospect, that would have been the right move to let them both resolve. That whole set I was just caught off guard by the cards he was playing (Honestly, I had never seen a lot of those cards before, like the Runeflare Traps), so I made some rash decisions on the spot, but now I see where I made my mistakes.
