Duck Weekly Tourney #18

I have to go out of town again today but should be back tomorrow evening and will be around on Saturday and Sunday.

I'm around pretty much all day today.  What times work best for you?

I am here now though I mangled the file with the deck list when editing and would have to piece it back together.  I will be around on Cockatrice for a little bit.  I'm sorry I missed this thread; I had the site open in the background but checked PM's instead of the forum.  Hope all is well, -B

Not a problem.  I'll PM in the future so it goes to email, too.  Luckily we're in no hurry since this is the finals and nobody is waiting on us.

Won 2-0.  First Duck tourney Victory, against Duck himself.  Very polite player, good match.  Game 1, he Probed me and then FoW-ed my Mox Sapphire so that I couldn't play Thalia on the first turn.  I Wasted his land.  Eventually Thalia came out and I had a Revoker on Black Lotus.

Game 2, he warned me that he had a first turn win but it did not materialize.  I started the game with Leyline of Sanctity in play.  He couldn't find a land so I put Revoker on Mox Sapphire and when he got land, I stripped them.  He kept tutoring for land.  I topdecked a Wasteland.  He CoV-ed my Revoker at one point but I Vialed in a Gorilla Shaman and destroyed the Mox.  He conceded when he was at 7 life and Mayor of Avabruck flipped into Howlpack Alpha.

I had also seen the top 2 using Brainstorm trying to find...anything.  Nothing was coming.  Unfortunately, I had an Ancestral find no mana sources or ways to get them.  A Vampiric that should have set up a kill instead went for a land I couldn't access until the next turn.

My opener was Vamp, Demonic, Lotus, Sapphire, Maniac, Hurkyl's.  Lotus + Saph  -> Demonic for Ancestral.  Ancestral found blue mana sinks I couldn't invest in   I never had the two mana after my first turn to wipe his board with Hurkyls.

Thank you.    The Leyline of Sanctity was also keeping me safe from Hurkyl's.
