Fellow Vintage Players, we have the Golgari Charm spoiled.
I think this card doesn't look as sexy as the izzet charm on first sight, and honestly I believe it's not as good either, because, well, it interacts with creatures (either small ones or big ones that draw 7 cards or have annihilator 6).
But still, let's see what the card does:
- kill that snapcaster/ bob / goblin / weenie army at instant speed (!)
- empty these boards from empties
- destroy oath
- protect your own weenie army (from what? swords, bounce, doesn't work, blightsteel has infect etc. This leaves burn / pyroclasm and combat)
So in essence this card does something relevant against oath, bob decks and weenies.
It is dead against dredge, MUD and Gush.
GB decks would mostly be UGB fish decks, but the problem with the -1/-1 ability is that it kills many of the X/1s you would run in such a deck as well. You could still time it, hold back your creatures or do some combat tricks with the third ability.
My prediction: Potential, but no immediate effect in the metagame.
