So I have an additional week of vacation coming to me in 2013 and I have absolutely no idea what to do with it.

I'm looking for fun suggestions.  Cost is something of a concern (I can afford to spend a few thousand, but don't want to spend more than that).

Thoughts?

My 2 Cents:
To start, Urban Exploration via http://www.expatexplore.com is always cheap and fun.
(Turkey & Greece: $$$, 4/5 Stars, Fun in the Sun, party all night long..)

Phuket: $$$, 5/5 Stars, Thailand...need I say more...
E.U. Train tour: $$, 5/5 Stars, Adventure for cheap.
Vegas: $$$, 5/5 Stars, what happens there, doesn稚 stay there Smile
Oahu: $$$, 4/5 Stars, Fun in the Sun, party all night long..
New Zealand: $$$, 4/5 Stars, hmmmm, you know Smile
Turk and Caicos: $$, 3/5 Stars, Fun in the Sun, party all night long..
Dominican Republic: $$, 3/5 Stars, All Inclusive Vacation Deals...

and always.....
Montreal: $$, 3/5 Stars, NY's best, just more Frenchy...food, exploring..etc

It really comes down to how much party vs. exploration vs. relaxation you want...etc..

Obvioulsy Gen Con.

If that is already accounted for, I say Tokyo.

It's single guy friendly, fairly easy for english speakers to navigate and yellow submarines abound with crisp japanese foily goodness.

You are always welcome to spend a week with team top deck insurrection, for a small fee of course. Play some crazy games of vintage, drink the best coffee you've ever tasted, and do some crazy shit we can't post on here without getting a red text response!

The GenCon request is already in the books.  Either I go to GenCon 2013, or have a week off in August.  Not the worst thing in the world.

Thank you for the offer.  I think I'd like to get a little further away from home than New Jersey though.

You're a good man, V.  If I can manage a trip outside of the U.S., I'm going to.

I'll second Bazaar of Moxen. I went once and it was a blast, and would go every year if I could. Failing that you might be interested in going to the big Italian Doomsday tournament, which would be pretty fun, and you could spend time traveling Italy.

Since Gen Con is a given, I'll change my vote and back BoM 2013.  It hasn't been posted yet, but France in May is pretty nice.
