U2   Sorcery

Look at the top three cards of your library. Put one of them into your hand and the rest into your graveyard.

Another Strategic Planning that costs 1 colorless more.  Strategic Planning was an expensive card ages ago, but it never really did anything.  And now we have 8 of them.  They are blue, and they do two things--draw a card and put two cards in a graveyard.  It's worse than Thirst for Knowledge with Goblin Welder (is this still a thing?).

I don't think it does anything, but maybe it opens up design space for something.

I don't think this is going to do anything. it seems more or less strictly worse than Forbidden Alchemy, which sees little to no play (maybe less than it deserves, it seems pretty good.)

Well I guess we have 12 of them, I didn't realize forbidden alchemy was infinately better than this card.  Wow.  How is strategic planning worth anything at all?

Well, it costs  {1} less, but also, despite not being on the Reserve List and able to be reprinted at any time, it has only the very limited print run from Portal 3 Kingdoms.

Would actually have putting Strategic Planning in the Core Set broken Standard/Modern?  I doubt it.  (Also, like they care about breaking Modern, they'd ban it straightaway and several other cards besides just for kicks).

Vintage is a lovely format, it's too bad so few people can play because the supply of power is so small.

Chess really changed when they decided to stop making Queens and Bishops.  I'm just glad I got my copies before the prices went crazy.

It is also that much money because of EDH, where once you have your one copy of brainstorm, ponder, serum visions, preordain, impulse, etc, it becomes a pretty good option.

Yeah none of the portal/starter cards are on the reserved list. I'd like to see more of them reprinted and if it's too powerful for standard/modern do it as a promo or packaged product card. I was upset with FTV: Legends for this reason although they have reprinted Xiahou Dun , the One Eyed and Loyal Retainers so that gives me some hope. Anyway, back on topic, I don't see this getting played over Alchemy, although I agree with d8dk32 that alchemy is worth a look.
