Elvish Mystic
 {G}
Tap: Add  {G} to your mana pool
1/1

I know probably nothing huge, but with the new legend rule elves will probably run 4 gaeas cradle thus lowering targets for arbor elf. This is obv better, giving us now 12 for certain 1 drops that tap for  {G}. Perfect timing with the new legend rule. Continue on with your day.

Is there a need for 12 lanowars? I mean I know how the deck works but some of the cards need to be, you know, other stuff. Even when we had 8 lanowars and 4 arbors most people did not use a full compliment.

There are some versions that do and some that dont. In a huge mud field being able to use 4 caverns and 4 cradle with esg, would having 12 one drops that are gauaranteed to give mana good? Also provides alternates to grab w gsz in case of revokers/metamorphs.

I'm totally on board for running different named copies to dodge revoker effects and meddling mages, but in most cases I think most decks add the lanowars at the end of the build to fill in the leftover spaces cause there are just to many must fill slots in the decks already. So yes its  good there is this new elf for redundancy, but I feel like its prominence is a bit washed out by all the other stuff and news happening.

But Ill still root for elves to become a tier one deck.

This is much bigger in modern. The only elves there are arbor and llanowar, this lets cavern be legitimately used over forests.

More importantly, we can now have 7th foil llanowar elves and m14 foil elvish mystic. A great day for the elvish pimp.
