A new edition of the LCV was held in Barcelona. Final attendance was 45, but thought to be in danger due to early TV broadcast of soccer match between FC Barcelona VS. Ream Madrid @ 6 PM, so everyone was a little concerned on having the tournament finished by that time.
It was not finished when the game started Smile
After 5 rounds of Swissh, these were the standings:

First 3 tables IDed and table 4 had to play it out. Table 5 was going to be a paired down matchup.

After the final round, this was the top8

Miguel Alcoriza (Deathrite Storm) won vs. Carles Miñón (Tezzeret Oath)
Adam Subirana (GG Oath) won vs. Javier David (Kuldotha MUD)
Pablo Ambrojo (GG Oath with White Tech) won vs. Jordi Pastor (UW RIP)
Toni Anaya (RUG Delver) won vs. Antoni Sánchez (Tezzeret Oath)

Top4 went as follows:
Adam Subirana (GG Oath) won vs. Miquel Alcoriza (Deathrite Storm)
Toni Anaya (RUG) won vs. Pablo Ambrojo (GG Oath)

Way into the Soccer match we could be watching @ the Bar in the place we were playing.

Finals:
Toni Anaya (RUG) won vs. Adam Subirana (GG Oath).

Wow, RUG Delver won again. Anyone has an idea why the deck performs so much better in Europe than in America?

Afaik, Toni Anaya is probably the only guy that keeps getting those impressive results with RUG. Bug is more played, and rug is played with pyromancers lately, getting a quite different deck.

... we don't play "photocopies the gathering".

All LCV tournaments are sanctioned, without proxis, so the metagame is a little bit different.
With a few anti-metagame unpowered decks that prey like sharks.

I'm flattered, David, jajaja.

There were few budget lists apart from me. I'd say Marcel Milià, Omar Nieto and maybe 1 or 2 more. Most people play jewelery or bazaars.

First post updated with Decklists!

RUG is one of the archetypes that crush MUD both pre and post side. All MUD players in the LCV are aware of the high percentaje of winning ration RUG has against them as Tony and other RUG players performance show (Sergi, Ferran and others). It punishes other archetypes too thanks to Misteps and Pierces. Bolt is on the rise as removal, Jace hate, and finisher.

RUG is a deck with which once you get into "Aikido mode" as I say, he just starts hitting you really hard out of nowhere Smile

Plus, the deck is a TON of fun to play.

Finally, it´s worth noting that Toni is a very skilled RUG player with a strong Legacy background. He knows what he is doing with the deck as his results have shown over and over again.

Try the deck and you will see.

It will surprise you for good.

I tried it this week-end. It was really fun to play and I never felt like the deck was outclassed even if it doesn't do anything broken. I was actually surprised by how well the deck performed and how consistently it plays.

I'll probably play it again next time I have the opportunity.
