We will be running one event each month at Top Deck Games, and participating in these events will earn you points towards 1 and 2 round byes at the 2014 Winter Open (Top 4 overall points earners get 2 byes, and 5th-8th get 1 bye). Additionally, the eight players who have earned the most points over the course of 2014 will be invited to compete in a single-elimination 8-man event at the Winter Open where the winner takes home $500 in Top Deck Games store credit. How do you earn points? Simple, you win matches. Let's say you play in an event where you go 4-2 in the Swiss rounds, win in the Top 8, and lose in the Top 4. You would earn 12 points for your Swiss performance (3 points per win, 1 point per draw, and 0 points per loss) and an additional 3 points for winning in the Top 8, for a total of 15 points! Also, any events that Top Deck Games runs that is a "larger" event (the Summer Open, for example) will be a 2x multiplier! Here's to more Vintage; I'm certainly looking forward to seeing everyone in 2014!
The Fourth Event!
Date: Saturday, May 3rd 2014 Location: Top Deck Games! Address: 55 Haddon Ave, Haddon Township, NJ 08108
Registration: 11:00 AM Play Begins: 12:00 PM Format: Vintage Entry Fee: $25 K-Value: 10-proxy unsanctioned REL: Competitive, decklists required and penalized for errors
We all know that many Magic players have some time management issues. To reward a random player who shows up early, at every Vintage event I run, if you register before 11:30, you will be entered into a drawing for a free booster pack! Who doesn't like free stuff?! Also, as always, we do allow late entries, but with a Round 1 loss.
Prizes! 1st: $400 Store Credit 2nd: $200 Store Credit 3rd: $100 Store Credit 4th: $100 Store Credit 5th-8th: $50 Store Credit

This event is May 3, correct? Not March 15? I don't have a time machine... yet.

Blargh. I have to work registration for a Yugs regional that morning, then Hornung will undoubtedly be nagging me to come to his Tres de Mayo party.
Anyway I'll have to play this one by ear.

I'll be there at 11:29. I can't afford to miss any remaining events since I got a late start.

I am looking to make my way back into the scene after a bit of a hiatus - trying to work out a ride with Samoht, if that falls through anyone else passing through NYC on way to this that I could get a ride with? Any LI people heading that way (FentonBot?)
I offer gas/toll $, company, and good personal hygiene.

I am headed to the tournament a bit earlier than everyone else, like Thursday. I can help you get back if you need but getting there I won't be able to help.

I can't believe I have to miss two in a row. You'd think bank jobs would be more accommodating with weekends off.
Good luck everyone and hopefully see you in June!

This was a really fun tournament. I picked the right one to attend; great to see such strong turnout and a mix of new and old players. Congrats on the win Tom. I'll do my best to see everyone again on the 24th.
