Ibrahim vs LotusHead.  Would you believe he survived this mess by simply grinding it out to the last moment, Oathing up BSC with Dragons' Breath and just winning?

Galen (Aardshark) not so lucky.  My 8 strip effects grind him down.

Galen throws his last card, Mystical Tutor for Yawg Will out there for David (Webster) to try and fight.  David pondered, preordained brainstromed and so forth but couldn't get the goods.

Always refreshing to have fresh faces at Vintage events.  With 15 proxies, anyone can play!

There was plenty of Oath represented. I actually wanted to sleeve up Oath Salvagers (as it is tech vs Grafdigger's Cage), but went with shops instead.

If yer gonna Oath up something, do it on the backs of the rare Sliver Tokens of yesteryear.

Frankie Mach's Delver vs Dredge.  Oh boy!...........and BRAINZ!

That Oath list is interesting. Surprised I don't see Dragon's Breath in there to potentially get both Time Vault AND Voltaic Key out of nowhere. Scroll Rack is an interesting addition, anyone know how well tht performed?

I died to a list similar to this last year (Piloted by Ryan Reynolds). Me: Shops.

I locked him out of game 1 only seeing fetchlands, maybe a brainstorm.

G2 he Oaths up Sun Titan, gets Time Vault, plays Volt Key and wins. G2 and G3. :/

I remember playing against an Oath player, I knew he was in Oath, I slammed a turn 1 Jace and said "Ha, let's see you Oath up a guy now" (this was 2-3 years ago) so he proceeds to Oath up Sun Titan, Attach Dragon Breath Bring back Time Vault and then attacked brining back Key. I was in shock.

Matt Sperling created the deck back in 2010. I've always been impressed with it when I've been facing it. I honestly think it's the Oath variant I have the worst record against.

You can read more about it here: http://www.starcitygames.com/magic/vintage/20024-Sun-Titan-Oath.html

I really like steves deck but am honestly suprised at how well it performing. A single chalice at one or pyroclasm or toxic deluge or engineered explosives seems like it could lead to a huge blow out. How do you handle these cards or was there just no one running them?

Pretty awesome.  You really want LOTV against Dredge, and Cage against Oath.

My deck is a tempo deck.  It's not blown out by Chalice at 1 because I bring in hella sb shit like Ingot Chewer.  If they Clasm or Toxic Deluge it's not a big deal.  I just play another creature and start beating down.

The biggest advantage of my deck is only 17 mana sources.   The longer the game goes, the more likely I am to win against blue decks.  I have both short term advantage and inevitability.

Yeah! That sounds like something we'd do in Ohio (and everyone knows we're idiots). Did you at least go out for dinner afterward?

I normally don't split, but any one of us would have had to win two more rounds to make the same amount of money as the split.   And, in this case, there were a ton of cards I wanted to buy from the store for my Old School Magic decks for the next tournament.  Seemed like a win-win.  Smile
