If you don't frequent the art forums, you may not be aware of the series of Art quizzes that I have been prodcuing over the last few months.

In an effort to expand my horizons and inspired by Edge of Tomorrow, I did something a bit different for the Invasion Art Quiz.

I sincerely hope that you enjoy this new approach.

Magic Art 101 - The Invasion Begins!

How many deaths did it take you to seal the final portal?

Did you find all of the ways to die along the way?

As always, let me know what you think so I can make improvements to future quizzes.

If you've never taken one before, this one is a good one to start with. If you've faithfully taken each previous one like me, this one has an interesting twist and is worth checking out.

Josh, for my feedback, highlight this: I got 9/12 correct because I confused seals for otters. This quiz, besides maybe the Trap one, was the easiest to date. If you're trying to make the quizzes more accessible like you previously mentioned, then I would call this one a success. I was one of the people who thought the previous difficulty level was just fine, but I understand why you made the change. Maybe I missed it, but is there a way to review all of your answers? The recap at the end of each previous quiz was helpful. If the user wanted to see all of the deaths, they could use the 'back' button of their browser. That made it quicker than having to restart every time which was nice. A minor nitpick - the load times for each page was much longer than previous quizzes.

I'd rather not spoil anything for anyone who hasn't taken the quiz yet.

A-1, glad to hear you enjoyed this one as well.

As for your feedback: Completely agreed on the page load times.  Instead of using the quiz plugin, I created unique pages for each of the questions and answers.  It helps with the hit count, but if the pages load too slow, it definitely negatively impacts the enjoyment factor.  If I am going to continue with this format I will have to significantly streamline the site to improve load times.  You are not the only one that run into this problem as the hits gradually decreased the deeper viewers got into the quiz.  I am already in the process of researching the necessary steps which may include moving to a newer, slimmer theme with some actual support, but the learning process continues.  With only two options I knew this would be a fairly easy quiz for anyone that played during Invasion but I just wanted to prove that I could actually complete the project as the scope had been daunting enough for me to avoid it for mutliple weeks.  I opted to just follow the flavor and didn't want to take the extra time necessary to discuss the answers.  Future quizzes will likely have a slightly adjusted structure and less questions which will save me enough time to include those extra details.

FYI, the other quizzes on the site appear to be broken.

Yep, something is broken.

Thanks for letting me know.

Should be fixed now.  Love the impact a random plugin can have on the entire site.

Looks like it is not caching correctly.

It works the first time you get to the page and then breaks.

Back to surgery.

Thanks again for letting me know.
