I was fortunate enough to have Brian all to myself for at least two times during the event... I win as result, no matter what the final standings actually show... Beat that!

Sideboard was probably terrible.

I don't know - Moment's Peace seems like quite the tech now that attacking with creatures is current fad in Vintage. How reliably can you cast it off that single Black Lotus. Smile

Seriously though congrats on the top 4, Ryan. Provided you are actually running Rest in Peace, the sideboard looks fine. Only issue might be Serenity blowing up Stony Silence against Shops if you keep them in and draw them in the wrong order.

Congrats also to Joe, Shawn, and Brian Kelly. I'm glad Brian has taken his first steps in the magical world of normal vintage by running 4 Force of Wills.

"Why are we making bad decks? I mean, honestly, what is our reason for doing this?"

"Is this a Vintage deck or a Cube deck?" "Is it sad that you have to ask?"

"Is that a draft deck?" "Why do people keep asking that?"

Random conversations...

Haha, oops. I luckily remembered to change that on the printout right before the tournament but then just made the same dumb mistake when copying the list here. I didn't play against shops yesterday, but I might keep one stony silence against Martello. In a world of mentors, bombermen, robots, and Tasigurs white does seem like the superior tertiary color in delver. The only potential problem I see is the shops matchup, since ancient grudge and trygon are awesome.

That's very generous of you, though the first time I won a Vintage tournament since starting to play again two years ago, it was a with a list that included 4 Forces (Stoneforge Jace Vault).  I have no issue with 4x Force in a Gush or Standstill based deck; there are just certain contexts and metagame considerations (ie Cavern of Souls, Abrupt Decay, rampant discard) where 4 is not the correct number, IMO.

Thanks to Shawn for a great event and to Wizards for finally printing busted cards again.  Was great seeing everyone.  Ryan, I thought your list had great ideas and agree white is the superior support color.
