Hey hey everyone

I am kinda new to the "upperclass" tournament style of magic (Tournament quality decks, with out P9) and i just wanted to say hi.

I am thinking of this new slaver deck... i half made it up half looked at other slavers.

I was wondering if i could get a few opinions on how i could make it better?
 well here it is:

Land
1x Mishra's workshop
4x volcanic island
4x Wooded Fotthills
2x City of Traitors
1x Strip Mine
1x Ancient tomb
1x tolarian academy
1x island
1x mountain

Mana acceleration
1x Thran Dynamo
1x Sol Ring
1x Mana Vault
1x Grim Monolith
1x Lotus petal
1x Voltaic Key

Counter/disruption
2x Counterspell
2x Force of Will
2x Misdirection

Drawing/ search
3x Braintstorm
1x Stroke of Genius
2x Cunning Wish
1x Memory Jar
1x Wheel of forttune
1x Fact or Fiction
1x Braingeyser
1x Mystical Tutor
1x Tinker
1x Time Spiral
1x Burning Wish

Creatures
4x Goblin Welder
1x Bosh, Iron Golem
2x Metal Worker
1x Vedalken Archmage
1x Platinum Angel

Win contion/Combo
3x Mind Slaver
4x Mages Contest

Sideboard
3x mountain
2x Island
1x Boomerang
2x rebound
2x Annul
1x Rack and Ruin
1x Pyroblast
2x Barbed Lightning
1x Fireball

ummm.... sorry

i forgot 1x Chalice of the void
and 1x frantic search

also a few people have been asking me what Mages' Contest is so for future reference:
Mages' Contest - 1RR
Instant - Invasion
You and target spell's controller bid life. You start the bidding with a high bid of 1. In turn order, each player may top the high bid. The bidding ends when the high bid stands. The highest bidder loses life equal to the high bid. If you win the bidding, counter that spell.

so basically you use the mind slaver and make them play a spell and then counter that with the contest thus make them pay whatever amount of life you want... i hope that clears some stuff up
thanks

well thats it, and it needs a little help, never been tournament tested yet, but on casual games it is about 7-4-2.... it need help on the side board i think and also some of the main deck stuff needs some work.  So if you have any suggestions please fell free to voice them
thanks a lot

Four ofs would be much better in this deck

x4 Force of Will
x4 Counterspell / Mana Drain (If you have them)
x4 Mishra's Workshop (only 1?)
x4 Metalworker

Bosh / Karn I guess is your choice, I like Karn personally, and why Vedalken archmage? Kinda slow and mana intensive it appears...

i agree with the Forces, not enough.... i like the Misdirections rather than the extra Counterspells though, a little more versatile... and it can misdirect a berserk or sumthin... i guess it is a metagame thing... Yeah i wasn't sure if i should get karn or bosh... i was also thinking about some stifles, bnut i am not sure how many... this deck has a few big kinks to work out,
thanks for the input

Considering this deck doesn't seem very fast, I would recommend adding some sort of removal. Currently, I don't see a reason for using metalworkers because you have so few artifacts compared with most decks that use them.

Your win condition is kinda janky, so I would remove the mages contests for something more useful. Perhaps more draw/disruption would be useful here. For example: Minds eye, some mass removal red spells if ur meta is mostly creatures.

Also, I agree with the fact that you must add more 4's of. The deck as it stands is not very redundant, which a slaver deck should be. Misdirection should NOT be here. Maybe in the sideboard, but I dont see why.

Hope this helps!

PS: Periods are tech when used in 1's, not tripplets.

I see, this deck doesn't seem to quite hit par does it.
I made it to see if i could make sumthi that is quite different that could still compete, but i dont think this has much of a chance as it, is their any other slaver builds out there that could adapt well to this?
just a thought, so far i am thinking 4x F0W taking out the mishra's workshop completely as i dont have the money for it,  adding another ancient tomb, i know it is no workshop, but kinda budgeted that way, minds eye would be good also thinking about AK and Cunning wish.  probably gonna get rid ot the metal workers too
