not sure if this has already been thought up or not but with the voltaic construct creature in darksteel opens an infinite mana combo if used with metal worker. just need two artifact cards in hand to produce all the colorless mana you want.

a mishra's workshop to get out metal worker first turn then just need to drop a land second for the construct.

this mana could be used to put out the myr matrix second turn and make infinite myr's or a snake basket for infinite snake tokens. probably more artifact combos could be made.

just a thought

try the search function. It will tell you that there was something tried in the newbie forum (at least, I only looked at the top few entries). People have tried the combo out and found it somewhat lacking because:

1) It needs a targetable creature and hence:
     1a) The metalworker needs to be in play for at least a turn
     1b) You can't protect it with lightning greaves or something similar
2) Colourless mana is surprisingly hard to use in a deck like this. People tried to use cards such as stroke or decree, but ran into colour problems, if memory serves.
3) It's easily disruptable as you can't do the repetitions again and again without giving your opponent a chance to respond, whilst you must also reveal most of your hand for it to work.
