Which decks are good to deal with random T2 crap, and also does reasonably well against popular T1 decks? IMO, aggro-based decks such as Sligh, Stompy and Sui have problems in dealing with some T2 decks, particularly those madness/threshold decks.

These T2 decks do show up in tourneys. :/

Game 1 you will probably lose since thigns like negators, cadets, gorilla shaman, etc are next to useless.

Just consider them random aggro (type 2 control is ass in type 1 and will just get murdered) and sb accordingly. Masticores, kegs, graveyard hate, more critter kill, etc should do the trick. (Kegs kill 6/6 wurm tokens, rootwalla's, mongrels, etc no matter how big they get)

T2 is all about stuff in the graveyard, so you can pack a sideboard Tormod's Crypt and concentrate on games 2-3.  That is of course, if you lose game 1, which hopefully you can pull out.

If not, the only decks I'd really watch out for are Squirrel/Opposition or Opposition/Static Orb and U/G Madness.  These decks are pretty fast and can get their engine going quickly.

Like Zherbus said, Powder Keg can deal with Green's fatties and weenies.  Suicide/Limp/whatever decks already pack Kegs either MD or SB, and Perish/Dystopia in the board as well.  Sadly, your discard will only help your opponent in getting stuff in the graveyard.  Always Duress first.

Against Opposition/Static Orb Sligh should fare okay, since you can always Fireblast if you find yourself in the lock.  Pack Pyrokinesis and Mogg Fanatics.  Although try to send 20 straight to his dome before he can get going, because it'll take awhile to get the lock on.  If he drops Squirrel's Nest, you'll just have to get lucky or pray for Strip Mine.

As a Stompy player, I think you'd have trouble.  I can't think of anything other than River Boas that can stop the onslaught of Green creatures.  Of course, the situation is made worse when they cast Overrun.     Or worse yet, if they use Merfolk Looter or Wild Mongrel to get Wonder in the graveyard.  Then you can't even block.

I like Sligh against most Type2 decks.  I usually go 2-0 sweep against U/G and in my last T1 I played against two of them in Round Robin and once in Top8.  I also pack Ensnaring Bridge (3) in the SB which is just a killer to a deck like that.

I've found that there's very few random and T2 decks that monoblue with Kegs (and especially builds with Masticore) can't kick to the curb regularly.

Please explain to me how Keg does any good against a T2 deck....  It's fine against sligh or stompy, where the curve of permanents begins and ends at 1, but T2 the permanents are too diverse.  Keg is ass against a T2 deck.

Slow decks like tog can let the counters build to three on a Keg. 6/6 Wurm tokens, 3/3 CotH tokens, bird tokens, etc all die to a zero point keg.

Play Academy and laugh at Type II decks. So you will have a 6/6 on turns 4 and 5 and 6?
Academy is pretty brutal if there is little Type I control around. Good luck stopping Academy using Type II counters.

I play Keeper in an environment where only myself and one other guy has any power.  I go up against a lot of type II'sh stuff, and I rarely have any trouble.  I still play moat, along with The Abyss and they are pretty effective at shutting most of these decks down.  Of course, part of might be that I've been playing for about eight years and most of the local players for more like two or three.

i don't really think you should worry about these random T2 decks, especially if you're a Keeper player. A lot of people that enter T1 tournaments irl just play random t1 stuff in their decks anyways, because, why would they waste entry money on a t1 tournament if all they had to play was a t2 deck?
