hi slycaptainfox,

i play Stax, and i worry more about the energy flux than i do about the hurkyl's recall.

i cant use my Workshop's to pay the upkeep, and if i have a lot of artifacts out with no immediate answer to your energy flux, i'm screwed.

hurkyl's recall, while annoying, will still allow me to drop almost everything again.

you can side out your 3 Telferi's Response in favor of 3 Engergy Flux, and your deck should be very strong against Stax as well as TnT.

I haven't piloted a Hulk deck, so someone else will need to give you their opinion of that.

I've been playing U/R Landstill for well over a year now and can tell you for a fact that Energy Flux is far more lethal than Hurkyll's Recall.

As David mentioned, the decks that you would side the Fluxes in against (Stax and TnT) are built on Mishra's Workshop in terms of acceleration. Although TnT can play around Energy Flux a bit better than Stax can; the card is devastating.

Hurkyl's Recall can be wished for, but that's irrelevant if you're playing Landstill. You can however cast it during your upkeep if you're caught under a Tangle Wire but the problem is that it's only a temporary solution to the problem.

I'll hop on the bandwagon here and say go with Flux!

I've got to agree.  There's a Stax player around here who uses Grafted Skullcap.  Against him, Hurkyl's Recall is better because when he puts the discard your hand ability on the stack, recalling all his artifacts gets rid of all of them at once. But against the regular builds I think Flux is better.

Flux, all the way.  I used it at the T1 side at Nationals, and it's absolutely amazing.  Against Stax, it's almost an instant win, against TnT, they can keep a critter or two on the board, which is usually still enough to win, but it's definitely still amazing.

One is a one time card that sends the artifacts to hand. The other puts them with a permanent upkeep cost that sends them to the graveyard.

Flux all the way.
