At 1 coin flip you win you won't be doing much with flaming gambit, since Bolt is better. At 2 wins you don't get much more damage than tubbies can get, and three wins is really hard to get as well. So flaming gambit is best left for those very very lucky on coin flipping.

Time to change to Shrapnel Blast then, huh? Wink

Bastian: what are you smoking?

edit: Aha, there's a similarly named card in Mirrodin. That explains everything.\n\n

There is nothing better than Su-Chi right now. A 4/4 for 4 that says you lose 4 life when it dies isn't good enough? Fucking deal.

See and this is why I really don't get some of you people, Sphere has always been a god send for me vs. everything short of other artifact decks. It really makes me wonder how/why your even playing the deck. It's awesome vs. Aggro of every kind, against combo duh and vs. control it limits how much mana they have to deal with the threats you lay out.

I've hated Tangle Wire in this deck since the beginning, there was just nothing to replace it with. There still might not be, as Greaves isn't working out that well due to the sorcery speed of the equip mechanism. For some reason I never get that critter + Wire start everyone seems to love and they just end up as 3 mana stalling devices.

As for low threat density, yes it's true. THERE IS NO ROOM FOR ANYTHING MORE. Just make sure you don't keep ass hands and it shouldn't matter that often. And if you want to draw cards use that new Skullcap and stop bitching about it.

Jacob: Bastian got confused with Fiery Gambit, the names are sort of close.  \n\n

Hmm, Seems my current favorite deck is getting a makeover.  Also seems I'm going to be forced into buying at least a box of Mirrodin now.  Grr, I like my savings.

^^; Sorry Ice, yeah at best you'll have to get at least 3-4 Chalice. At worst... well another 2-3 Mirrodin cards. hehe

Vegeta relax, I'm not saying you guys are wrong, only that I play/build Stacker differently (more traditionally) and still have good results.

My issue with the Stacker build you are using Vegeta and other similar ones, is I don't understand why you guys don't just go all the way and play Stax.  Make the final decision, make room for some Smokestacks and play a true prison deck.  I think going to as much trouble as you go through to play a lock/stall type of strategy and not playing the final nails to finish the game is counterintuitive.

Stacker used to be, essentially, fat artifact guys and Sligh's burn suite.  Now, all the burn is gone and in its place is, in my opinion, a watered down lock mechanism that isn't as good as a true lock deck.  Many people apparently have had really good results with that type of build, and I'm happy for them and to listen to them discuss it.  My main point is, I think an update of the old archetype, still using some amount of burn and relying on a "damage prison" rather than a permanent prison like Stax decks establish is worth exploring.

Because I don't like that sort of deck and it's weaker against combo than I am. The reason I dropped all the burn was because it was weak. Stacker 2 may of been a better Sligh, but Sligh isn't good and it's not really going to matter that you add in bigger critters.

The deck was basically my aggro anwser to combo and still have decent match-up's vs. everything else.

I also agree with you and as I said way up there I was also intrested in possibly updating the OLD Stacker design. I think it may be fast enough, but I still have doubts. Since your build is obviously diferent from the norm, why don't you post it in another thread so we can see how the thing ticks.
