I have noticed a few cards (well mainly one card- Spoils) from Mirrodin that made me want to try Blue/Black Trix, negating the whole rector engine and that bad color "white". This build is just what I can afford to play:

I opted to post it here rather than the t1 Newbie forum just because I think some real discussion might be generated not by my deck, but by the concept. I for one think it is at least viable, although I really have not tested one game yet, so I'm sort of talking in theory (read: in theory = out of my ass, but not in a negative way ). I can see my deck goldfishing around turn 3 consistently, which is short of spectacular in today's metagame. However, I think the lack of speed is compensated by the ability to run 4 Duress and 4 Force of Will, plus the added in factor of not losing to hosers that shut down the other combo alternatives. However, I really do not see myself dropping Dragon for this IRL. Perhaps Dragon is a better alternative, but I just wanted to work with new cards.

I would give this a try over a rector based trix deck however, because of the rector engine's vulnerability to hate of all sorts. I think running one Tendrils maindeck might be okay for this deck, as an alternative win in the face of enchantment removal, or perhaps I will maindeck a Rushing River once I find the room for it. Any ideas are welcome!
