Red is easier to cast than green, and Meltdown is immune to Chalice. If they Chalice at 3 you can't Wish for Crumble anyway.

I see, so you just board them in and go for the win in 2 and 3 but it will rough on the road it looks like\n\n

You know, I noticed that it seems as if every other deck that's either someone's pet deck or is Tier 1 is being discussed regarding Mirrodin... except for Hulk. Well, there's obviously a thread for it, but it died out. Why? Perhaps some sort of disinformation? Or is no one interested?

I don't know.  Maybe everyone is just waiting to see how everything will change first.

Seems a shame to me because I don't really think that Chalice will destroy or make Tog unviable. I've played some games with early Chalice in play and easliy played around it. I'm just not sure what to change main deck.

Chalice definetly makes Tog worse. Not obsolete, but just worse. Like Tog was considered the better control deck before, Keeper will make for a stronger deck post mirrodin.

Yeah, I tested Chalice in Keeper and it is ridiculous.  In Keeper, its just such a bomb.

We'll see if Hulk can cope with the chalice.

Chalice really isn't such a "bomb" in keeper though. What did you test against? I'd rather pack it sideboard since you mainly want it vs.sligh and long..

edit: scepter is the real "bomb" mirrodin offers.\n\n

I don't think so.  The scepter is really good, but I think chalice to be much better because chalice is just such a hoser for those particular cards that you worry about not having an answer.

Its like your playing mud and you counter that smokestack so that you can stabilize and but you don't have an STP or another counter, and your worried about the incoming welder that could put it all to shit. You get the chalice and then you don't have to worry about it the rest of the game.  It just puts things in the position Keeper wants them to be in.

Scepter is ridiculous though.  I just think Chalice is more compatible with Keeper and brings it back to the style of control that it started in.

But i suppose that this conversation is better situated for Dave/ Eastman's keeper thread.
