I would assume that you have no answer to a Sphere of Resistance.  Tangle Wire can't help you much, but like you'd have to have Firewalker on the play turn 1 and 2 to win.

Or else the MUD player you played against is terrible.  It's Type One after all.

Kird Ape, a Sphere is only really good turn 1, and yes it DOES slow me down.  But it also gives me time to accumulate burn spells to kill the MUD player with.  In addition, all the MUD player's creatures are vulnerable (especially welders).  THey will have difficulty mainting their Smokestacks, and about 60 percent of my spells are instants, so Tangle Wire isn't that big of a deal.  Don't always be so cynical about everything, it often detracts from discussion.  I will concede that I didn't tell you why the matchup isn't that bad, and I apologize for not clarifying that immediately.

For those people testing the 4 Chrome Moxen and Ball Lightnings, I suggest they consider War Elementals and Wheel of Fortune, too.

+4 Shrapnel Blast -4 Chain Lightning seems good with -4 Mountain +4 Great Furnace.

Mana Drain needs restriction since Challice single-handedly forces Sligh players to vary casting costs.

What?!?  Mana Drain isn't a problem right now.  If Keeper is too good, it is because of Chalice, not Mana Drain.  I don't know of any other prevalent decks right now that run both of those cards.

I considered War Elemental, but it made me realize that I would have to run bad cards, like Seal of Fire.  You may be able to make a different style of deck running those cards.

I cut Wheel, because it wasn't consistent with what I wanted to do.
