I believe the above post was made by the store owner,  the rule, I believe, is no more than 8 proxies.  The proxie rule was instated after my insistance, because I am the only one who goes to the store, who owns the full power, and acctually plays.  I was more interested in gaining new opponents than weather they owned the cards.  Unfortunately this makes the games unsanctioned, but it expands the interest in T1 and gets me new opponents, without having to go all the way to NGNY and then hope there are T1 players there that day.

Anyway, I hope as many of you as possible show for the game.  I know a timewalk dosn't peek as much interest as a mox but it's still worth it if you win, right?

The last torny was won by URphiddian. the final 4 was: URp, turbonevyn, Oath and Sui.  The meta has regressed and is no longer burn heavy.  Though I would still expect 2/3 of these decks.      ofcourse there will be control    combo    sui    and a bunch of kid's janky rogue decks   .

   Hope to see you there!

LambChopNYC tellinhg y'all what I know from making it there last week.

I'm glad that I went. Got to meet some new players and play Type 1. I took what for me was a very long way but have learned another form of passage to and from. Living only three blocks away from the GWB, it is best for me to take the 171 bus from the GWB bus terminal to the store. I took the train last week so I don't know how far away it will leave you from the store. I did take the bus home though and I picked it up only one block away and across the street.

ONE MAJOR WORD OF WARNING!!!
Make sure you make plans to get home! The last bus to NYC is at 11:00 PM. The last train is at only 9:30PM.

If you have a car, that is great for you. You don't have to worry than. BTW, I would love it if you can give me and my friend a ride back to NYC.

Also remember that you can come, compete, and if needed, drop out by 10:45. This way you can make the bus back to NYC at 11:00.

I feel this is a great prize and I don't have to worry about waking up early the next day so I will stay as long as I am in contention for the prize. A few years ago I walked home from the mall one bus stop away form the store. If I have to I will walk all the way home and am willing to accompany anyone heading back to NYC that missed the bus.

I WARN YOU, THIS WILL BE A HORRIBLE WALK! I'm talking about walking alongside the highway with no side walk for more than a few miles.

Hope to y'all there

Oh, and the proxy rule allows 8 or 9 but you must have a photocopy or computer printout not just a land with a sharpi marker that says Black Lotus. I also was unable to play my naked celeb proxies. There were some young'ins presant and we don't want anyone to get into danger for influencing a minor. Though all the adults loved them.

there are solid ways to get back to NYC. You can take the train at 9:30 or the bus at 11:00. The only problem is that if the tourney goes long you might need to drop out to catch that last bus.

We should look into finding out how much a cab will run us. If say three people from NYC chip in, it may not be much at all.

So, who won?

I couldn't make it, due to my being placed on the DL.

I dunno. I bombed without even making top8.  tons of playing errors, mistake of playing U/r instead of mono-U w/BtB, and random brokeness of academy got me bupkus for the night, so I left early.  I think it was Lord of the Goats vs. John with Academy (plus necro, bargain, ritual and power artifact) in the finals.

Ufactor, chill out. Sound like your gonna blow a gasket.
It's not like you forgot to REB the stroke with 3 cursed scrolls out.

...yeah that was pretty funny.

but the reason why I'm pissed is that I don't want anyone posting bullshit about my store.  there's only a few people that have more turf rights to Gamemaster than me, and the only people who don't know my screen name that fit into this category are the owners (The Brothers McCauley).  everyone else needs to get their story straight and shut their mouth.

...and if you think I'm overreacting, think about how much your local store means to you  .

Dragonfire - its ok, i didnt show you but the card i topdecked the turn after was yawg's will. I didnt show for the obvious reasons. But im sure, will - morph, 'core, ancestral, walk, demonic would have sent you packing.

Good games, try to tighten up that deck. I can tell you can pilot her with good skill.

i tend to not like the last few rounds, because everyone around is talking to me, and distract me horribly, for example: missing the stroke that i should have countered.
