Next Type 1 is going to be on the 25th of august, thats a sunday.
FeverDog mentioned something about Hotels, prices, and stuff.
My family owns a house on Newfound lake (BEACH PARTY), about 45 minutes north of the tournament. I was thinking, I could commandeer the house for the night before the tournament...drink a little beverages and trek down to the Type 1 that next morning.
We could play test like bastards, as I have a complete gauntlet thrown together. I think it would be great and we could even call it 'TheManaDrain gathering 2002' or something quaint like that.
Let me know what you think.
Just for your reference.
I allow proxy p10, normal type 1 rules. Prize will be a mox ruby. Based on attendance there will probably be second, third, and fourth place prizes. It will be held in Concord, NH. Turn outs have been getting nicer each tournament, so hopefully this will be a big one.
GET TIME OFF. PLAY TYPE 1.

As I said early this morning, I will most likely make a trip up there in late august, so I'm looking foward to it . I'll try to bring up some Binghamton players(kl0wn etc) if they can get the time off(and I can get my transportation up and running).

Carl, would you be up for crashing at the beach house?
Specialk.
It's in Concord, NH @ Concord card on the corner of South State and Downing. Sunday, August 25th at 12 (registration), Round 1 starts @ 1 PM.
Proxies of power 10 are allowed, normal type 1 rules apply otherwise.

I'm always up for an excuse to go to the beach ;D. I'll talk to the local people about it. I may not have a car by then, but we may Greyhound it up there.
For a Mox 1st prize, i can probably convince a few people to go.

I'm going to be in Boston on business that weekend. I'd love to go if I could get a ride and be back by Monday morning.

Beer? Magic? Naked Chicks? Sounds like a wild time.
Okay, nobody mentioned beer and naked chicks. You never know though... How's the prostitute population up in NH, Zherb? MU HU HA HA!!!
Seriously though, I'm in, it seems like it could be a blast. We'll probably be able to get a few more people to come up too(probly about 4-5 total).
As a bonus, according to my "The Road Atlas" by Rand McNally, Concord NH is only about 300 miles from good old Binghamton, NY.
Shoot, that's nothing...
We made it to Toronto(Worlds, 2001) in six hours last summer. This'd most likely be less time and more fun, expecially since we wouldn't have to sleep in a parking garage.
PROXIES?!?!?!? WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING PROXIES!!!! RAWR!!
I'm nuts...

kl0wn: You obviously haven't read the Noble Panther replies me and Zherbus made last night ;\
I'M nuts ;[
We should bring "Neil" outta retirement for this one. Who else do you think should come? Josh O? Smack? Rob might be up for it if he's outta camp.
Zherbus: If we end up bussing(this'll most likely happen) into Concord, do you think you could arrange a pickup for us?

"Neil" can't be brought out of retirement as his Mexican ass is in Jersey until further notice. I can almost gaurantee that Smack will be up for the trip though. Smack has a car too!
HEY...I was the first person to pioneer a deck like "Wet Pussy". I posted it back on BD right before the site died, it was called "Invincible Counter Cat". It featured Armadillo Cloaks and Sabretooth Nishobas in addition to the big bad cat. Sabretooth Nishoba is almost as big a beating as Panther. Almost. I'm still trying to put it together, but I need 3 more Noble Panthers. Those things are more difficult to get off people than Morphlings...I'm really not kidding.

Ok, this sounds great to me. I spoke to my cousin(PennyLane) and she is definetly coming too, i think the beach house idea is wicked. The only problem i forsee is whether Phoenix is willing to stay overnight and if his parents will let him come.
Phoenix, if you want i will meet your parents in person and help you convince them, you SO have to come!

If you get a bus ride to Concord, since I live there, It'll be no problem...
I can squeeze 3 other people in my car, on the way up.

Damn you. I still have yet to attend one of these shindigs of yours. Unfortunatly, this one is the day before classes start and being the young lil' frosh that I am, I'll be having orientation. I'd even be fairly close, in Albany, but Eheu! no car either. Oh well, have fun.

That's really unfortunate, Spin, since we'd probably be passing through Albany on our way there. We could pick you up...
This really does seem like the sweetest thing since sliced ninjas.
On a related note...

I work every other week, 7 days on 7 days off (12 hour shifts) and I picked the WRONG set of weekends in august...shame the fuck on me.
EDIT: The 1st is definetly OUT. Ill beg for days off, otherwise itll be the 18th...\n\n

Sweet. If you pick a date sometime in September, there is a chance, if klown and company are swinging through Albany, I might be able to go (depending on the driver's exact plans and actual willingness to find my sorry ass). Anyway, keep us updated, cause I will, sometime, make it to one of your tournaments.

Tournaments come a dime a dozen. I buy a mox and everyone else basically pays for it. After this shin dig, if theres desire to get together we should REALLY plan a north east get together.
I have a house at my disposal...Jes and I share an apartment...not enough to hold the army i want. I have it basically whenever I want unless someone else claimed it that weekend.

Good, good; definitely do it the week *before*, since I wouldn't be able to make it the week after.
EDIT: Wait, does this mean that the tournament would also be moved back a week so that the first day (18th) we hang out and the second day (19th) we play in the tournament?\n\n

I dont wanna rain on anyone's parade (Phoenix, Penny) but im still not sure i can make it. There's availability, money, and just plain willingness to drive 3-1/2 hrs.
I really cant confirm anything at the moment, seeing as my desire to play magic is at an all-time low.

Well, I get back to lovely Concord, NH (Contoocook actually, but how many people actually can pronounce that, let alone know where it is) on August 28 after spending 7 months in Germany and my playing skills are so rusty facing me is pretty much an auto-bye. Still, if it gets bumped later than the original date (and not Labor Day weekend) I will be there.
