I am visiting Chicago from 12th-24th of September (first time in the States for more than a decade!), and I wanted to know if anybody of you lives in Chicago, if there is a Magic community and especially if there is a T1 community (possibly even some T1 tournament during that period).

There is only one shop that i know of that hosts type 1 events in chicago that is crazy cards. You can find a post by them somewhere here. Now if only the tournys were on sundays

If you are looking for a good type 1 sanction (16K) tournament  then there is only one place Crazy Card & Comics.
September events 9/07/02, 9/14/02 & 9/21/02 all at 1:00 pm.
