Ducktape - TOC Game Reports Round 1 through 4
Okay, well the Round reports are always a tedious chore, but I always liked
reading my friend's reports. This report will be quite short.
I hope Westerdayle and Magikarp are reading this, my two online buddies that
I've discussed the deck indepth with, and I want to say "WHATS UP!" to the berkeley
mtg krew. I also want to say wassup to my lil homey OftenLost, the smartest mtg kid
surrounded in a world of type 2 in downey/pomona area.
My type 1 game has improved dramatically thanks to the berkeley group.
I think the best statement about type 1 came when I suggested Obsessive Search
in a bizarre/squee deck to AxeMurder, he responded with "I DONT HAVE TIME
TO TAP A BLUE TO DO NOTHING". And you take that concept and extend it out a little
and you get something like "in type 1, there isn't time to do *anything*"
Your first turn has to be gonzo, and 2nd turn has to be even more gonzo. I realized
in type 1 theres almost no time to even play land. At least thats the mentality I
have nowadays. I should be playing Axemurder's dragon. Anyways, onto the report.
The logs have alot of editing going on to make the appearence shorter,
most notably since my opponents dont do much anyways (most of the time),
I cut out things like playing lands and show significant draw spots.

Game 2.
And so the second game goes even worse, at some point in time he disconnects
but while in our disconnected state he sacs to smokestack, causing havoc with apprentice
since apprentice is now "unsynced" and generating errors up the wazoo. However
we manage to play even though we can no longer see my opponents actions and we
talk it through on AIM. It is horrid. But I win the second game nonetheless when
he takes 35 points of damage.

This has got to be my highlight match for sure. We discuss the game before hand, wish
each other luck and talk on the phone while playing through apprentice.
Incidentally I made up the name ABM for his deck and he helped me create Ducktape,
and we know each other's decks inside and out since we play each other all the time
anyways. The name ABM came up because I made the comparison to him and John Nash
because of his ability to see strange janky cards interacting beautifully,
and said "You are A beautiful mind" and timw said "Thats the decks name!" and the deck's
name was set in stone.
