Come to Montreal in one month from now (Nov. 3) for a chance to win a mint Unlimited Black Lotus or $350CAN (your choice) at Carta Magica's monthly DCI sanctionned T1 tournament! Next month is obviously a special month as the prize is bigger then ever before! Lately, we've been getting an attendance of around 45 people. The entrance fee is $20CAN and, if more then 25 players show up (which is almost a given), then the rest of the entrance fees will be given out as prizes to the rest of the T8 in the form of store credit.

The metagame is pretty diverse, with a number of very solid players and decks. Lots of sui, a bit of sligh, lots of random aggro, turboland, neo-academy, dragon, mono-U forbiddian, urphiddian, pox, nether void, keeper, parfait, TNT, and some other stuff I've probably forgotten about. Some decks are powered, some are not.

Registration starts at 11:30 and the tournament starts at 12:00. For more information, go to the bottom of this page http://pages.infinit.net/carta/tournois_en.html

Be there!\n\n

If I don't have homework during that time, I'll be there. That is also depending on if I can get a ride!

I'll be there, and I'll be there on the 6th of this coming month too.

That reminds me: If anyone from around Toronto needs a ride to the T1 @ Carta on Oct. 6th, let me know. I have room for 2, so first come, first serve. All I ask for is that we split the gas money. Let me know.

Count me in guys!
Hoping to see a lot of you this Sunday!

Andrew, do you think we could practice some nit, 'cause I'm trying to fine-tune my TNT deck.
Please let me know if you can.

Tournaments in carta magica are so fun, i'll be there too !
I did not see the Black Lotus but it is announced as a near-mint mint card so 350$ cash will be a difficult choice for the winner ! I hope everybody will be there, it's also a good time for trades.
See you sunday for the monthly t1

cancerman : i noticed that there's less and less dragon.dec so i think TnT is the more logical choice for the tournament. i playtested the deck against keeper and urphidian and ratio is about 70% first game and at least 50% in the second one, it's a very hard deck to sideboard against. i will probably play it too. i'm going to carta magica saturday at 6pm, if you want to playtest i'll be pleased.

TnT seems to be the hot thing right now. I wonder if people will start to treat it like they treat BBS...

As for me, I won't be able to go to the tournament this weekend but be sure that I will be there on Nov. 3rd !

So how did everyone else do?

PS - Cancerman, I totally thought you were somebody else!! I thought that you were a friend of a friend of mine, and I thought that you were talking about another Andrew who is also a friend of this friend of mine! Sorry for not getting back to you or saying hi at the tournament, lol, but I finally have figured out who you are! As for playtesting...well, I'm pretty busy and it takes me ~25 minutes to get to Carta by car, and I have to take public transit which is pretty long.  Although I do need to playtest against TNT, so I'll let you know if I can fit in some playtesting.

I posted this a month too early thinking that the Lotus tournament was last month. So I had to cover my tracks by advertising two tournaments in one post. But now the Lotus tourney is finally here!!

There's also a T2 tournament at Carta this Saturday. Even if you don't play T2, it's a great place to do heavy trading. I'll be there, playing in it.

And for those interested in playtesting there is a T1 tourney at CTM in Québec the day before I guess about 100 peoples will be there.

BTW if anyone from québec read the post I need to get someone who know where the tourney will be held in Montreal I'm offering the ride if anyone's interested.

Woo hoo! I've got sunday off!

Expect a lot of Quebec City players to go to MTL this weekend. I'm personally driving 3 other players, LucUTF, MrZazel and Mig'Hells (winner of the last tourney).

Yes, we do hold a T1 this saturday. Due to time restreints, we can only run 4 rounds of swiss then a top 8 is formed. Winner gets 100$ cash or 125$ in store credit. Admission is 7$. The tourney is UNsanctionned and you have to call before friday 21:00 in order to play saturday. Msg me for additional info.

Tatanka : Sorry, I don't have any seat left in my car for you : my girlfriend's coming too.
