i would think the earlier the better on sunday (12 noon), so that people can travel back that night easier. i've only got a 2 hour drive, but i was thinking about others whose might be longer. also, can we have some specifics when they become definite (entry fee, prize/places, time, proxies or no, etc). is the ymg tourney for real?

checking my calendar, the 8th looks real good, if the ymg torny the day before would be cool too. Like I said 1 would be better than 12 and 2 sounds a bit too late. but hey, I'll be there anyway.

Edit: now that I think about it, if the ymg torny is the day before, and there is room for me to crash on someones floor or something, than the earlier the better.

Looks good to me, of course all this could change depending on how my job interview goes on Monday, but I'll do what I can to be there (and at the YMG).

Should have looked at this earlier. The 8th might not be so good for me. I'll see what I can do.

I think the only way I could make it is if my friend in the NYPD can get the day or days off. He mentioned how it sucks he doesn't go anywhere with his car and expressed interest in doing some Magic tournament traveling when I brought up the subject. He has a hard time getting his vacation days though, especially on Fri/Sat/Sun. The faster we get a set date, the sooner he can request those days and maybe get luky enough to head up with me and 1 or 2 other people.

So, do we have a date for this one yet?

And are you guys planning on running this as a weekend of Magic?

I need "in advance" notice to get the weekend off. And as time ticks by and it's getting closer to the dates I am worried that someone else will request the weekend off for someother reason.

I'm not sure about Dans tournament, but this WILL be on the 8th. I had to secure the day with enough in advance so I did.

Figured I'd kick this up to the top to get the excitment going again.

I have secured the entire weekend off, so I will absolutely be here for this one. I am still hoping that CooberP manages to get his going for the day before but even without that, my resolve to be here will not lessen.

Can we get sort of a mousekteer rolecall going here to see who is coming?

I dunno about the fate of the rest of "the CT crew", but unfortunately I won't be able to make it on the 8th (going out of state already to see MC Paul Barman - heh, funny stuff)

As of now I don't think I'll be able to come. With work Sunday morning I wouldn't be able to make it from CT in time. The weekend around New Years was really the only good Sunday for me.

quick question:

I live in Maryland, how far is this from Baltimore? I might attend, but assume it will be a hike :-/

depending on the estimated time, I might go for it.

I'm about an 45-60 minutes north of Boston, however long it takes to get there plus some, I suppose.

Sam and I are coming.
I expect we'll be bringing Chis K, don't think he's on the board here.
I'm driving a van, and I've got room for
BillTheDuck, his brother Chris, Mezzir, Hulk3Rules and maybe 1 more.

Grand Inquisitor?
Anybody else that can get to Northampton need a ride?

If there is any way to get TWO more so we can kick my brother out, that would be great .

I might have a friend who could fill that spot if no one else does.

Maybe GI (I guess he can be Hadley Crew now too) needs a ride?

its going to be sunday the 8th, right? do we have a start time, entry fee, or proxy info yet? i probably have an 80% chance of making it. thanks billtheduck & co., but if i go i'll be staying in eastern ma anyway, so i won't need a ride. i'm looking forward to meeting the rest of the regulars of this site (and of course our patron, zherbus).

Quick question on proxies...

I'm new so if this is posted somewhere around the site
just give me a url.

Anyway, what is the standard for proxies-would revised plains with black penned "mox jet" etc. be acceptable, or are you looking for color copies?

Personally, I prefer color copies as they aren't too hard to aquire

Essential Magic

And if you use too many revised plains, Bryce will attack you \n\n

I think essential magic was raided by MaRo's legal department: the link didn't work when I tried it.
I look around though, thanks for the tip.

Just type in essentialmagic.com

It works, just the link is broken for some reason.

My sister is coming home for Thanksgiving, so I will ask here then about possibly staying up there and hitching a ride to the tournament. I'll keep you updated.

So the first round starts at 1, but when is the final round expected to end. And since I know that depends on the turnout, how many people are expected to show up?

I just talked to YMG, and we can have it on the 7th. They recommended doing it later to get more publicity and turnout, so I need everyone who can come to guarantee their attendance so I can give them a prospective figure.

I will probably be there with a friend, we are coming from cape cod MA. its like 1 hour 45 mins for us, and we have never played REAL competitive magic but have won poor local tournaments. This is like 15 mins away from where I used to live, so thats a plus. I really want to go, I'm going to do my best to get there.
