Tournaments in Maryland?

Hello,

Somebody asked me where he could find tournies in Maryland (near DC).

Anybody know a place or tourney?

There's not much T1 in the D.C. area; I know as I lived there this summer.  The main Magic place around there is Dream Wizards, which is a 10 minute walk from the White Flint metro in Maryland, but it's almost all T2/Extended/Limited.  There is of course a great T1 scene in Richmond, VA, but that's a 2 hour drive or train ride.

If you call 1 store that has at most a 16 man tournment once a month a great scene, I guess none at all is worse.

Prizes are a box of cards, but I wish they would give Type 1 cards.  

The completition is good, but sometimes turnout can be very bleak. As few as 6 people.

Last month was fun though, but I think the store owner said you have to preregister for January, or you will be turned away.

Unfortunately I don't know of any places that run type 1 events near DC.  However the 1.5 scene is gaining popularity in northern VA.  The Lucky Frog in Annandale runs a 1.5 tourney every Saturday (ususally between 22 to 28 people), and BC comics in Fairfax runs a 1.5 on Friday evenings (usually between 20 to 24 people).  If you want more info just PM me.
