I'm expecting you get back to me about what's going on before the end of this round, which is next sunday.
Oops, I Axe apparantly didn't include the part in the IM where I said that I dropped.

Yay.  A win for me.  Of course he conceded, but I still win...

sorta...

Ok, blah.

Anyways, MoreFling is still running this thing, he just won't be playing in it anymore.  Just in case anyone was confused.

Me and Klown:

I 2-0ed him

Game One:
klown wins the roll and is playing first.

I have a one land hand with 2 Fow, 1 Misdirection, 1 mana leak, 1 Mana Drain, and a Counterspell.  I keep.

He goes duress, nail the misd with a turn two ancestral that I let resolve.  I draw the second land just in time and eventually I drain a skirge with two land in play and draw a land to perfectly drain into the phid with doulbe counter backup.

I win

Game Two:
+ 1 keg
+ 2 gilded Drake
+4 Control Magics
- 1 b2b
- 2 counterspells
- 1 capsize
- prohibit and something else.

I let a mask resolve midgame with this hand: 2 control  magics, phid, Fow, an Island, and 3 Islands in play.

He plays a mask and I let it resolve.  He plays a naught.

I untap draw a lotus and steal a naught.  He untaps and plays another.  I untap and draw time walk.  I sac the lotus for UUU and play the walk then control his second naught and "That's Gush Boys."

Just a little addition to this:

Game 1, I consulted away all but 1 of my Masks then proceded to draw nothing but mana while he was drawing off 2 Phids every turn. I know when I'm licked.

Game 2, 3 Control Magics among opening hand, topdecking and an Impulse hurts me. I may have 7 Duresses, but I can't fight the top of my opponent's deck.

Is this thing moving at all?  No posts in 7 days.  If no one's interested anymore, is there a point in continuing it?\n\n

Yeah, I share your concerns. If players won't play, drop them and move on. If the TO is too busy to do this thing, let someone take over and move on.

First than anything, sorry for taking so long to reply.

I asked MoreFling to take full responsabilities over the tourney because I have been busy as hell and I am no longer able to run this, not consistantly able anyway, and he said he was very busy too, but he would take charge.

However, he might be even more busy than what I thought, so if anyone is willing to take over, I would like to talk to that person to arrange stuff.

Once again I honestly apologize to everyone, and I hope that this experience let us learn much things for the future.

Basicly, I figured everyone would read this thread and get back to me.

From the people not playing, Nimrod is the only one who messaged me that cooberp and him hadn't found enough time yet.

if someone wants to take over, I'm happy to send you dcir files.

OK, some players are totally unresponsive, which is unacceptable. If you sign up, you should be available. These are the results for round three:

Axe          2 - 0  JP (JP dropped: network problems)
Redman     2 - 1  Riverboa (Riverboa dropped: leaving Magic)
PsychoCid  2 - 0  RolandB (Walkover - Roland dropped: unresponsive)
K-Run       2 - 0  Brimstone
Smmenen   2 - 0  Kl0wn )
Meridian    2 - 1  Matt TG (Matt dropped: requested)
Carl W      2 - 0  Zherbus (Zherbus dropped: requested)
CF         2 - 0  Puschkin
Acolytec    2 - 0  Jeek (Walkover. Both players still in)
BurningIce  2 - 0  MoreFling  (MoreFling dropped: Requested)
Nimrod       2 - 0  Cooberp (Walkover - Cooberp dropped: unresponsive)

Standings:

Pairings will be up shortly. If you want to drop, let me know NOW.

Assuming everything is in order - these are pairings for the last round before we cut to top8:

Axe - Redman
Cid  -  Smmenen
CF    -  Meridian
K-Run - Acolytec
Brimstone - CrazyCarl
Puschkin - Burning Ice
Jeek   - Kl0wn
Nimrod  -  *BYE*

Or, better organized:

First: I see 5 rounds were scheduled initially and it seems appropriate to keep this. 3-2 will most likely be enough. If we cut after 4, some on 2-2 will make Top 8.

Second: In the spirit of leading by example, me and Meridian have already played our match. My deck has proved to be good against Mask in testing (with Chapin on this end and me on the other) and performed decently. Adam was sadly preoccupied fending off baseless accusations on IRC at the time and sent his early Mask into my FoW - right after he had Unmasked and taken my 1st FoW. From there it was Dryad, Timewalk, Meddling Mage, win.

Second game he took a gamble start by Unmasking (removing Edict) and then Lotus/Ritual Mindtwist - leaving us both with 2 cards in hand. I kept a Flooded Strand and an StP (losing another strand and some random spells including sleight of hand) - he had 0 lands among his 2 cards. I found a Mage and then a Dryad before he reached Edict mana (which later killed Dryad, letting Mage maintain the 'lock')

2-0

BurningIce over Puschkin 2-0

Two crazy games. The second one was hilarious. I scrubbed out in turn 40 or something due to a mistake.

EDIT: I saw no single Spectre in any game AGAIN. I should have named this deck Turbo-Disk or something.\n\n

I won 2-0. First game, Acolytec concedes as he doesn't have any disenchant effects in his maindeck.

2nd game, I play a 2nd turn Serra Avatar but he Leaks it
Early on, he had to Force twice in the same turn, and that seemed to affect his counterbase. He had a lot of Naturalizes but I had Crypts and he finally conceded as I began to play must-counters every turn (mesa).

K-Run 2 Acolytec 0

PS: Acolytec is dropping from the tourney.\n\n

I hear Redman showed up today, as scheduled, but Axe was late as he forgot Red was in a different time zone.  Don't know if this is significant, yet, but I'm just keeping y'all up to date.

I talked to AxeMurder the other day, he said that he had forgotten about the time difference and showed up at the wrong time on Thursday.  Oops.

There doesnt seem to have been much momentum to reschedule the match though.  AxeMurder seemed frustrated that so many people had dropped, for instance.

This is the last match that needs to be done?
