Predictions:
Brimstone over Redman 2-0
Fast fat @ Redman.  Smash, smash, smash.

Axe over Myself 2-1
If even so well.  Axe is the bane of the PCiddy.

Smmenen over Raph 2-1
As is predictable in Parfait vs. Control.

CF over BurningIce 2-0
Somewhat-optimal build defeats Non-optimal build. :|

Carl over Nimrod 2-0
Carl will pwn crapwhite.dec.

Meridian over Kl0wn 2-1
Whatever. :/

Bye over Puschkin 2-0
Nonexistant.man will 0wn 'WhyIPlayBlackv2.0.dec' (this is a referrence to a deck MattTG played in the t1ToC5, for those of you who don't get it).

PS-Chris, you sux0r @ repairing. Wink  This is the second time you've ruined me through such an action. Razz\n\n

It seems Acolytec has dropped - at least from K-Run's post. LOVE HOW I'M NOT TOLD SUCH THINGS THROUGH PROPER CHANNELS!

New pairings:

Redman - Brimstone
Axe - PsychoCid
Smmenen - K-Run
CF - BurningIce
Carl - Nimrod
Kl0wn - Meridian
Puschkin - *BYE*

Lost 2-0 to Smmenen :

Game 1, he gets an early Ophidian in play and I can't get rid of it. He Kegs away my 2 Claws and I'm killed by Capsize.

Game 2, I have a nice hand that looks like : 2 Chants, 1 Sol Ring, 1 Processor, 1 Mesa, 1 Plains and a Claws. Unfortunately, I only draw my second Plains about 7 turns later. He plays Library and Ophidian and I'm unable to keep the pressure up. He wins.

Axe ate me alive 2-0, as I predicted.

I made stupid plays like dropping a Boa and THEN walking my Edict into a Misdirection or Striping his only Island before attacking with River Boa.  I'd bet my life such issues would not have changed the outcome any, regardless.

Game 2 I drew zero sided cards and lost to a 13/13 Wild Mongrel via LoA+Ancestral+Gush.

Axe deserved the win from the second he was paired against me.  I played like utter shit.

Well, the apprentice shuffler sucks.  In neither game did CF have an outstanding hand and yet when you draw no threats and all land, there's really few decks that won't run you over.  I did 0 damage either game, never saw any Serendibs, or Morphlings, or Masticore after SB, one Psionic Blast in both games, 2 Thieves, 1 Cloudskate and 1 Mishra's Factory.  That just won't do it.

CF 2 - 0 over me.

The first game I had all kinds of mana and drew absolutely nothing.  Got run over by a solo dryad.

Second game, same story.

Brimstone 2 - 0 Redman
AxeMurder 2 - 0 PsychoCid
Smmenen 2 - 0 K-Run
CF 2 - 0 BurningIce
Carl 2 - 0 Nimrod (nimrod awol)
Kl0wn 2 - 0 Meridian (Meridian awol. Neither would have made top8 due to horrible TBs. Kl0wn finished 9th)

Top8 Pairings:
Axe (1) - Carl (8)
CF (5) - Brimstone (4)
---
Redman (3) - PsychoCid (6)
K-Run (7) - Smmenen (2)

Predictions...

Carl over Axe, 2-1
SMASHSMASHSMASH.  Really, I just want Carl to win, but this matchup is more likely to see Axe taking it 2-1 ;/

Brimstone over, CF 2-1
Meddling Mage @ Survival, chump to Jugg?  MisD @ brim's Ancestral?  Damn StP, though. SMASHSMASHSMASH is more fitting here.

P-Cid over Redman, 2-1
Something will get screwed up somewhere and he'll burn me up.

Smmenen over K-Run, 2-0

I'm offended by that prediction Cid. Wink  I won 2-0 and even forgot to side out the misdirections (it was like.. 4:30 am). This matchup is heavily in my favor.

Brim drew fairly poorly though - although first game he _did_ resolve an early jugg, and jar - after playing wasteland/strip mine etc etc. Luckily, he drew tons of survivals off the jar, and couldn't play them. MMage 4L. Game 2 he did nothing.

Dryads block and kill Juggernauts any day. His creatures are too small, and I can keep survival/welder off the table with comfortable consistency.

Actually, Chris, I initially typed 2-1 in your favor and then thought to myself that I, perhaps, was underestimating the speed of TnTs draws.  ;P

Kl0wn: No. It isn't that bad. Those who were 2-2 and lost last round are behind you.  Surprised)  Your opponent match win percent was 54, while Carl - who's 8th - was 56%. You came very close :oP

In the quarterfinals I had the chance to avenge my loss to Smmenen.

Game 1 : Smmenen is able to get 2 Ophids on the table and I can't get rid of them. He draws too many cards though, and I accumulate enough stuff to survive until the end. He has Capsize but I do have an Aura ready and when he tries to capsize my Mesa, I destroy it with Aura. In the final turns, I'm forced to block Morphling with my last Pegasi and before the final turn (his last since he only has 1 card left), I topdeck a Wrath, which is countered. I play a land, and play Balance : he does have a counter - mana leak  - but I have exactly 3 lands up...

Game 2 : I play an early Mesa and Smmenen comes back with 2 Ophids and 1 Morphing. I'm forced to take 15 points of Morphling damage to stop the ophidians. I'm afraid of the Kegs, since Smmenen could Capsize my Mesa then Keg away my blockers. I play a Cap, which is not countered, and I remove the remaining Kegs + Ancestral. Eventually, I'm able to gather enough mana to put many Tokens in play, but Smmenen capsizes my mesa and counters it. Not drawing any extra cards though, his hand size decreases and finally I'm able to finish him with Mesa.

[06:43:56] [EFnet] <Smmenen> shut up
[06:43:57] [EFnet] <Smmenen> just shut up
[07:02:16] [EFnet] <Smmenen> i can't bleive it
[07:02:17] [EFnet] <Smmenen> oh man

Congrats K-Run, on a humiliation well done

Game One is totally effed up.  There were like 4 ways in which I could have won game one without a problem.  Game Two - I played a gambit that had like a 80% of winning but K-Run had the nuts.  I played a turn 3 phid with doulbe counter back up.  My hand was Leak, Fow, Annul, and a land.  He goes STP, i leak, then he plays a sol ring, and a land and he casts Orim's Chant Which I let resolve and he plays mesa.  That was like the best thing he could possibly do.

Well, the games went EXACTLY as I predicted.

P-Cid over Redman, 2-1
Something got screwed somewhere and he burned me out.

Game 1 I started off with land, ritual, ring, twist for 3.  Turn 2 Hymn.  Turn 3 Hymn.  Edict dork.  Mana got tight and I had a Monger that crashed into Incinerate + 3/3 Mongoose.  We both played Draw-Go for some turns and the life total was 7-7.  3 turns down or so I topdeck Regrowth and use my otherwise dead Ritual to reanimate Mr. Pillow Fight0r.  He goes on to win, of course.

Out: 5 things that start with 'Ne.'  In: 2 Edict, 1 Smother, 2 Wasteland

Game 2 I sit on Swamp, Forest, Forest for YEARS and manage to toss some discard and edicts/smother his way.  He Sylvans ingeniously giving me the least use out of Duress (well, it does catch a bolt, but that was my only choice) and only 1 card for my Hymn.    I screwed up my mana count at some point and go Ritual-Will-Ritual-DURESS out of grave (instead of the Hymn from hand)-Hyppie (instead of the Hymn I had planned).  AFTER that I got my 2nd Swamp and had the 1-card Hymn.  He had Sylvan and Scroll going for quite some time, I was at 7 for quite some time (he was at 12 or 14, I believe).  When I'm at 5 life I find D.Tutor (having drawn Lotus last turn) and go Tutor-Lotus-Deed and opt to Deed for one to kill Scroll rather than wait to untap to kill Sylvan.  I have one turn after that where I draw DEED, of course, which sucked.  He goes Incinerate + Bolt and ends game 2.

This time I brought back 1 Negator over 4th Waste.

I again open with some discard, including a Twist for 2 in one of the early turns, somewhere.  I Deed away 2 dorks and a mox and drop a Hyppie that walks into a bolt of some sort.  He gets himself a nice, non-shiny Shaman and I bust out a Hyppie.  Soon, I topdeck MAD SVG ANTI-BURN TECH PHYREXIAN NEGATOR.  Shaman gets Edicted and I start smashing Red.  In his hour of need, Redman finds Wheel of Fortune.  He Wheels away my hand of Hymn/Ritual and brings us both 7 fresh cards.  Fortunately, post-wheel, he only has 1 red mana available.  He Chains my Negator, dropping Forest/Swamp/Hyppie off the face of the earth, while Swamp/Forest/Negator survive.  Blurry McMongoosington joins the show.  I untap, topdeck Lotus, go: Lotus > Deed for 2 > Swamp > Jet > Hymn.  I hit Bolt/Scroll leaving 1 card in his hand.  Attacking brings him to 4.  He untaps, draws, shows me a hand of 2 Wasteland, and virtuallly extends the hand.  Wink

SHORT rundown:
Game 1: Miracle draw.  Win.
Game 2: No Miracle draw.  Lose.
Game 3: NEGATOR SMASH0R|ZE.

Props:
1-ofs I topdeck like mad.
Mr. Negator
Cursed Scroll
Deed for being powerful albeit slow

Slops:
4-ofs I can't find in time.

Correct.  Raph and I were supposed to play yesterday, but my grandma has been diagnosed with cancer and I went to visit her.

At the current time, Raph is out in Ontario visiting his girlfriend's family, so it will be another week before we are able to play.

I won 2-0 over Cid.

First game I'm able to Tax/Rack and he's mana-shorted.

Second game, he mulligans and he's not able to put enough pressure on me as I keep on drawing bullets every turn.

0-2 Raph's favor.

Both games were close enough to describe the same way:
I could not stop Tax.
I could not make Deed significant.
I could not get in any significant amount of damage.
I could not establish control in any way.
Mind Twist was useless.
Deed was useless.
Monger was useless.
And 80% of the time, all my lands were useless.
