Just to annouce the upcoming monthly tournament held at Carta Magica in Montreal.

The tournament is on the first sunday of each month. Next month will be February 2nd, 2003. Entry fee is 10$ (canadian). First prize is 150$ (canadian), with the rest of the Top 8 getting store credit for singles based on attendances.

Most tournaments get around 40-50 people, with a high level of competition.

Registration is from 11:30 to 11:50. Tournament starts at 12:00.

The tournament is sanctioned, so Legions cards won't be allowed for that tournament.

And don't come with too much expectations because I'll probably win anyway

But second place still gets a nice prize, so it's probably worth it

As always, I'll be there for the fun of it!
I'll also be bringing along three to four of my friends.
Come in big numbers!

In case you're wondering, I'll be the guy "Growling" whenever Juggernaut hits the table!

The tournament was well attended (60 people) and there was a split in the final between François Mathivet and Jonathan Mailloux.

I'll make another analysis of the results this week. Expect it for the end of the week. If you have any suggestions as to what I should look into, mail me at francoislaroche@sympatico.ca or just send me a private message via this board. I have access to all the decklists as well as all the pairings with the results of each round (only the final result, can't analyse the impact of sideboard).

Also, the april tournament will probably be a Lotus one again. This is not yet "official", but I know that Carta have the Lotus, and they plan on doing this, except if they get a serious offer for it (they fixed its price at 650$ canadian) before.

Some additionnal info :

I made 2-1-3. According to what was on board when time was called, I think it would've been 3-2-1 if there wasn't a time limit. I was losing that 3rd game vs Cancerman, but was on the verge of killing that last opponent. Nothing was decided when time was called against Kramer.

Mailloux was playing ugw gro and Mathivet (Tom Bombadyl) was playing Academy. Shock Wave made the semis, and Tamer (Alexandre Caron) made top 8.
