Zespris (Rodosti) was looking over my shoulder during the match, we netmeetinged it up (I invented another word!) so I have little to add.

I'll just make a few amendaments:

Game 1:

I hate Lapse when I'm stalling on 2 lands!
I finally realised how good it was.

Something funny happened though, which was at least funny for me and Zespris. When Roland played his first sleight, I opened the T1 b/r list in appr (a known glitch to check out face down cards).
Zespris was unsure wether he would mention it, but I thought I would, since no harm was intended, it's a habit of playing in #magic-league tournament, and #apprentice stuff back in the day. Anyway, I didn't do it for the rest of the match, since well, I suddenly realised what I was doing heh...
habits habits....

Game 2:

About the siding:
I sided in 1 blood moon, Moat, and took out humilities.
I also took out digger and karmic justice in favour of replenish #3 and Story Circle #2.
I didn't realise untill AFTER game 3 that I should've taken out 3 aura's for 1 or 2 seals, and add abeyance or crypts.
In the end, roland conceded when Claws of Gix hit play, and he knew I would go into tax-rack mode and kill him.

Game 3:
The first hand was 1 Swords, 2 Wasteland, 1 Mountain, 1 Sol Ring and the rest plains.
It's an obvious hand to throw back, but I admit I had some doubt anyway, since wasteland is v. v. good against the mana-light growatog. Also, a swords and mountain-sol ring wouldn't have hurt either.
Guess we'll never know what Apprentice had in store for me.

I drew 2x Plains, Moat, Swords, Blood Moon and Plenish, and failed to draw some other land, untill plains nr3 in turn 4 and sol ring after that.
Also, here I realised my mistake with the aura's who were still in the deck. I didn't cost me the game or anything, but it's still an error.
Roland had a very good hand though, keeping a 1 land hand (or so he admitted afterwards when I asked him about it).
Ofcourse, a first turn sleight can smooth that out, and it did, since it didn't LOOK like he kept that kind of hand, since he drew into enough land.

I think we both played good games, and Roland's deck obviously has the edge over mine, although it was closer then I thought on beforehand.
I still think Smmenen's version of Growatog is better though, but Lapse did pay off for Roland against me, since he stalled me manascrewed game 1, and bought an important turn Game 3.

That looks like a fantastic hand vs growatog! You have the amazing Wastes in hand, a Swords to take care of the first creature, and the ability to cast a Blood Moon (if you happen to top-deck one in the next 3-4 turns) since you have acceleration and a Mountain in hand.

I would definitely keep it. I'm curious why you thought it was so bad?

A fetchland makes that hand significantly weaker, and a fetchland with a Gush makes it worthless.

But its all about the odds.  You cant mull to 6 because you are afraid of what your opponent might have.  Besides, if you make him Gush with your first Waste and then tag him with your second one, you've got huge tempo.  Nothing to do with it, but then Parfait never does anything.  Wink

Like I said, I had doubts about throwing it back, but I might have just gotten more random crap.
Also, now that I think of it, I'm not 100% sure it was a swords, it could've been a Chant, but I just typed of swords since that would actually make me thing, while a chant and 6 mana sources would def. be thrown back... I'm just not sure what it was.
Still, JP is very right though.
Sure, I can draw into great things, but then again, I cannot.
And to be honest, I cannot build on a real tempo advantage, since I'm playing parfait, tempo advantage doesn't really exist heh.
