Well another Type 1 tourney at the Green Dragon comes to a conclusion with Cullen Cox as the winner. We decided to make this a proxy tournament so that alot of others could play in a great playing field. Welp needless to say alot of people had other plans it seems so we only had 15 players to play in the tournament.

Prizes were as follows:
1st Unlimited Timetwister
2nd Signed English Moat
3rd Bunch of DCI promos or $30 bucks store credit
4th $20 bucks store credit

I played Paragon Keeper with Monolith/Power artifact combo

Round 1 vs Mike Beichner playing rec/sur?
Game one i don't get alot going and slowly get my head beat in by Avalanche riders and then the Verdant force.
Game 2 I get the deck rolling along and drop morphling early and swing for the win.
Game 3 I start petering out and try to go for the monolith/power artifact win instead of dropping a early morphling. welp bad decision on my part

0-1-0 in matches
1-2-0 in games

Round 2
Versus Shaun Moreland playing R/G Beating Machine
Game 1
Shaun is always a great sport to play against and loves to crack you up. Game one he gets early mana screwed and morphling shows up when im around 6 or so life and finishes him off.
Game 2
Shaun dumps his hand of all cards except 1 first turn and i keep a so-so hand
thanks goodness for demonic tutor and lotus into a Balance
we basically begin anew and i hover around 2 life till he runs out of burn and i have morphling swing for the win.

1-1-0 in matches
3-2-0 in games

Round 3
versus Matt Hatch playing re-animator
Game 1
He tries to get verdant out early and i drain it into a monolith and a few turns later after countering a few nasties, drop power artifact and stroke for the win.
game 2
I get a early lockdown with Moat and he doesn't use any type of flyers (Iridescent angel) and he starts the pinging with verdant force/Krovikian horror. I manage to get morphling out and fly over the abyss after a great yawgmoth's will and time walk it.

2-1-0 in matches
5-2-0 in games

Round 4
versus John "DAD" O'Connell playing URPhidian
We decide to ID since DAD is already 3-0 at this point.
Good game Dad!

2-1-1 in matches
5-2-0 in games

Round 5
versus Stevie Kaufman playing R/G Beats
We decided to ID to go ahead and try to start top 8 since we had such a low turnout.

Well after everything we cut to the Top 8
Top 8 was:
1 Mike Beichner vs 8 Mike "Stally" Mazujianoiuofghkyiuyt (or something)
4 Shaun Moreland vs 5 Dave Allen
2 Stevie kaufman vs 7 "Evil" Bill
3 John "Dad" O'Connell vs 6 Cullen Cox

well i get apird up against Shaun with his fast R/G Beating machine
I get the guns flowing and let morphling seal his fate game 1
game 2 i almost have the combo turn 2 and i know he sides in naturalizes so i luckily top decked a strip mine and stripped his green source and stroked himfor all he's worth
Great game Shaun i always have playing that deck and sorry to see it finally getting retired!

Top 4 Consists of Me(Dave Allen) Mike "Stally", Cullen and Evil Bill

I get "Stally" and Evil Bill gets his buddy Cullen

Game 1
I get Library rolling first turn and after he has no lands and i have the advantage, he scoops and starts game 2
Game 2
I get freakin mana-screwed out the wazoo and he proceeds to bash my head in with Mishra's factory and i lose horribly
Game 3
I try to get the deck rolling but make a few foolish mistakes and end up having no recursion after burning wish and cunning wish's are gone and both Morphlings are in the graveyard chillin'. oh well maybe next time.

Cullen makes short work of Evil Bill and they start the top 2 while me and Bill battle for 3rd and 4th respectively

I just don't pay attentiona nd Bill drops early Blood Moon's both games and i get knocked out like the fat kid in dodgeball *PING*

Stally and Cullen are duking it out and Cullen manages to pull out the win and finally starts his epic quest for cards for Keeper (to hell with Pargay, i mean Parfait)

Well to say the least everyone who showed up, A big thank you from me, Everyone seemed to have a blast and no one shit their pants nor knocked over huge bookcases so we did good.

Until next month, March 1st type 1 tourney, we will be in Savannah defending our 7 month run at MorningStar Games and hopefully have a great finish on the 16th?!? of February

Dave, I couldn't comment during your match with Stally Mcstall-stall, but I just found it funny that you played for like 10 turns after you lost you last win condition..........as if that match wasn't grueling enough already. Btw, I'll remind  you that you can keep the Power Artifact, I sure as hell don't need 4.....Props on running a good, although small tourney, it was quite enjoyable. Extra props for somehow becoming a really good player in the last year, I feel that I may have to let you be the Captain for a while, lol..........(Of course, I sure as shit won't let you design our damn decks, that'd be suicidal for certain)

Yes i agree with you as well Jon, seems i have been in the drivers seat for the tournaments the last year but without your guidance and the table and the ungodly amounts of cigs we smoke play-testing, i feel we would still be sitting at the "Timmy" table.

Now if we can just get everyone else performing at par we should be ok heh

Anywho see everyone around
