The last one I went to, which was a couple ago, ended around 830-9, but it started an hour later, so, figure that in.

With 6 rounds starting at 11 ...top 8/top 16 should start around 5:30...that means most people will be able to leave then if they need to...the top 8/ top 16 should go til about 9:00 or so

Hey is there any word on the RI crew making it up to this?  I heard a nasty rumor around that even though it was being moved to Saturday just for them, they aren't gonna make it.  What's the dilly-o?

(Argh, I have absolutely no clue what to play.)

If it truely was changed just for them and they don't go I think I might just have to call up good old George and see if we can send a couple nukes their way.  Cause that is creating a huge bunch of crap for team goat.  I don't know if we'll see you or not.  I;'m keeping my fingers crossed.

Yeah...in a perfect world everyone would be able to do everything they want all the time.  In this world there comes a time when you have to ask yourself...

What's more important...my graduation celebration or a tournament....

the answer is of course...A TOURNAMENT

true story... 2 weeks ago...my mom reminded me about the graduation celebration (I'm a college graduate) that she planned for May 10

I told her i accidentally planned my tourney for that day...

Suffice to say...the graduation party's date was switched...MY TOURNEY COMES FIRST

The moral of the story...I have no idea...I just wanted tell a funny story.

Well, in your defense, I think you make a good enough chunk of money for these tournaments to make it worth changing the day of your party.

That's funny...I'm kinda insulted...I dont think i have to defend myself because unlike the complaint about YMG BOSTON...Entry hosing...I MAKE NO money from card sales because I am not a store front...thats the benefit stores get from tourneys...but...cause everyone seems to think I make more than I do...consider if ideally i get 70 people next event

$350= Black Lotus
$100= LOA
$60= Alpha Berserk
$60= 2 ARABIAN Cities
$80= 4 Morphling
$25= 8 Packs
$75= All side prizes
$20= Copies of Flyers
$50= Postage
$200= Room Rental

=$30 Profit...I make some extra on the vendor charge and a little on pizza and soda...overall...if i make $80 a day teaching then I make as much as I do for 2.5 days teaching...which I ALSO have fun doing

Ray is wicked cool. He would never try to take money from his friends, and that is what type one is.. a big community of friends. Anyone who was talking smack best back down...

I couldn't care less even if Ray makes a few hundred on these. They are fun and the winners get good enough prizes. He doesn't enter himself in the tournament, he's just running it.

going to ray's tournaments...priceless

I really wish I could go to this tournament.  I know other people are skipping graduation parties, prom's, whatever, but I'm just not like that.  I'm expecting over 100 people for a lamb roast at my place, and its a close call, but I just can't ditch all these people (and a beautiful spring day) to play magic.  It wasn't an easy decision, but I'll have to catch you all in Concord.

However, since I'm not attending, I have free reign to make outrageous predictions, and I can talk all the s#!t I want.  So, here is how its going to go down...

Ray will break (recent) Vintage history by crossing the century mark.  However, since a small portion of the 100+ attendees will be mogg flunky toting newbies, the tournament won't start until 12:30.

Team Performances:

Team RI: Although Ray changed the tournament date for them, it just isn't meant to be.  On the way, Team RI will get pulled over by a CT state trooper.  Just before he's about to let them off he spies their cheesey GAT decks and hauls them off to the clink for public lewdness.

Team Goat: Buoyed by the strong play of Lord of the Goats they make a decent showing.  However, before the last round of swiss, a ninja sneaks away with one of Alex's precious mountain goats (a la TMD championship).  His confidence shaken, he loses horribly to ABM and misses the top 8.

Team CT: These guys are like the A-Team of this tournament.  They just walk around all smooth since its their home turf and casually sweep scrubs on the way to a solid finish.  Both Kieth and Jared make T8.

Team Binghamton: I don't even think these guys are coming, but if they did, they would all keep a low profile and look around wistfully like JEDI knights.  Unfortunately JEDI's are susceptible to land-screw, and they drive back to NY with their tails between their legs.

Team Hadley: They all saunter down I-91 and break this tourney open like a pinata.  Five Hadley'ers T8.

Top 8:

8) Kieth: Holds the rep for team CT, lives to fight another day

7) Adam: People laugh at his basking rootwalla's and then he kills them.

6) Nick T: As usual, Nick plays brilliantly on the way to the T8 , but then lacks the mental fortitude to finish the job.  That and EBA is a pile (that I lose to consistently).

5) Jared: what a dude

4) Token Scrub playing Sligh: Every tournament has one

3) Dan: Sweeps people out of his way with dignity and enjoys his alpha berserk

2) Phelon: Although he's won countless power tourneys, Alex finds out he stole his goat and firebombs the hotel bathroom while Brian squats unaware before the finals.  Rest in pieces...

1) Ben: every tourney ben casually smashes face round after round, and then meets some wierd matchup and misses T8.  Today is different and he takes home the lotus

I need to get into team goat, who wants to be my girlfriend

GI: what about the new york crew? and the non-expected NY'ers that will rip up the field seeing as how mask will NOT win  I have my hopes

Too bad you couldnt go, who knows how EBA will do this tournament, i doubt it will do as normal because a lot of the people who normally play GAT (i.e. myself, roche, etc) are not playing GAT, and theres probably only going to be one mask in the field (ben? does he have a TMD account?)

Anyone know what theyre playing for the tournament yet??? Preferably from the hadley crew, i know team goat and myself, but no one else. I expect some people to play their normal decks (the tnt people and nick), but who knows, a lot of signifigant changes have happened in the meta since the last tournament. Only time can tell.

8 Days and counting untill bloodshed occurs and people go home crying for their mothers while being chased by the haunting illusion of the lotus they didn't win   ph34r

they killed restricted.dec too...damn them. (used to have decent synergy, now it has dead cards like entomb and earthcraft)

BTW I want to go but I am still looking for a ride from massachusetts (greyhound rates aren't going to cut it, at $69 round trip, plus the fact that I would still arrive a little late and I would have to leave early because of their narrow minded bus times)

Where in Mass? Samite Healer might be able to give you a lift if he's going.

Sudbury, MA (near Framingham, Natick, Marlboro) I might even be able to get dropped off some place more convenient, I would really appreciate it if somebody could give me (and a few friends if there is room) a ride, and I would be more than happy to pay for gas.

pernicious dude: any chance I could bribe you to go a bit out of your way to pick up me and 1-2 other friends? I live in Mass and I'm sure we could make it well worth your while. If it would be possible for us to hitch a ride email me at Email_Toast@yahoo.com or just post here.

Dan, I call a seat..

However, I don't know how I am getting to Phelon's.. I was gonan walk, but that doesn't seem like all that great of an idea- last I checked Phelon.road was more than 4 miles away from the mall.

Either way, who from Hadley is passing (or is willing to pass) UMASS?

I might just stay at Phelons... hmm...

Anybody planning on driving through Albany?  More specifically, driving through albany on 90 and can pick me up at the University right off one of the exits?  There's gas money and lotsa gratitude in it for you.
