Is it new, or is it based of an older deck?

I think that K-Run had a lot to do with Parfait... if not its creation then at least its evolution.

I don't really know, but that's what I've gathered from reading posts here and on BD.

Anyone else know for sure?

And did a GREAT job at it. Parfait came almost out of nowhere. Mono-white control?? WTF? Yeah. So everybody thought.
Deck Parfait is THE example for me when I try to explain newbies or Type I-sceptics that Type I isnŽt stagnant, can be played successfully without all the Power cards and without having to relay on stupid beatdown and to show that rogue decks CAN be successful. Its an established and widely known and respected archetype now that people even prepare for in sideboards!

I think I never said this, so IŽll use this opportunity: K-Run, mad probs for this creation! You playtested and developed it for such a long time against all odds. Thumbs up! (So, Nimrod, I am okay with if you beat me!)

For your pleasure, I uploaded the old parfait primer that K-Run made on BDominia in 2000 somewhere.

You can see it if you click Here!

Maybe Zherbus can upload it to TMD ? (assuming it isn't already, I didn't check.)

K-Run made and developed Parfait. (and it is such a fun deck too!)

I believe that I read on the old BD board, that K-Run originally made Parfait, it out of what he considered "a crap rare deck", and also as an annoying Lifegain deck to play casually.

This is why the deck is so cool to me!!!

A TRUELY original idea, that is way fun and consistant, and wins (time limits being its worst opponent!)

Thanks you K-Run for making this deck.

In the immortal words of Matt Reitz "Parfait is everyones worst matchup!"

An evolution was the best was to put it.

K-Run started with a deck of good white cards (which was a lot more aggressive, running Pegasus Chargers and Personal Incarnations) and had it evolve into a more stabilized version of Prison.

The Prison was originally created by Chris Cade, whose intent was merely to throw together the most annoying cards he could find, and shrug off winning.

Years later, which so many better weapons to use, the deck has become known as Parfait, and runs more on permanent solutions than needing to Wrath(Humility)/Geddon(Blood Moon) every so often.  Also, Pegasi and their producers have outdone Soldiers and theirs.  Wink

ALL HAIL K-RUN!!!

BOW DOWN!!!

Fear the ponies!

The Deck has Brian Weissman

Parfait has K-Run

K-Run has definately earned his place in the annals of magic.

On a side note I've been trying to find really goofy my little pony pics to make tokens out of for my friend cullen's parfait.
