I was expecting a certain amount of discard from black that didn't really turn up - something along the lines of lotus-blackmail-fiend or something like that. I played a 2-land deck to try and overcome decks like that (although it would 3-3 the sample deck that I put here). I expected more of balance.dec rather than rack-balance, mainly because I didn't think of rack-balance until the stage where I couldn't be bothered to change my entry   so I had to stick with my original. I was also thinking about playing the show+tell, fotd deck, but I discarded it, thinking that it'd 3-3 against everything. me silly

It has been played succesfully in other sites. There isn't that many combo decks than you think..

Maybe you're right, maybe you aren't. still i think there's not much attention for it because we already have such a thing (3CB). good luck with finding people who are interested.

more points if i went Rack as my kill like the mind swords deck.

should be 3-3 since turn 1 blackmail his land, and game 2 his wheel races my skirge (since it hits me first befor mine attacks. why i wish i played rack) assueming wheel does 3 dmg with 0 cards in hand.

I think thats it. that was fun. Good play with the form deck. no one saw it comeing.

There are 3 errors currently.

6-0 vs Stijn de Jong (was 3-3): If I start, Therapie. Even when he starts I deal the first damage with The Rack so I end the game at 3 and him at a bid 0.

6-0 vs Kakeboy07 (was 0-6): When I go first I play Therapie if he counters I win, if he doesn't I name Energy Field and win. When he goes first I also win since I just discard the Force of Will from his hand so the Field brokes and Teh Rack comes in the game.

3-3 vs Haro (was 2-2) : When I start I therapie his Wheel of Tortures so he is stuck with a workshop, how can he actually win?

That actually gives me 108 points, placing me second.

I am shocked at how few people played balance, rack, lotus...  

EDIT: #2 (tie) is my highest finish thus far, lets see if there are any other calculations that could go in my favor...  

Form of the Dragon was a nice touch - congrats.

I am looking forward to heading back to the drawing board for some less broken deck designs.

*also note, we almost had a 2/2 split all the way accross (virtual), but deck #5 was janky land.dec and prevented the sweep*

If I go first, I balance away his whole hand with rack in play.  

If he goes first, he can play the workshop, the wheel of torture.  I go, take 0 damage because I have 3 cards in hand.  I play lotus, rack, balance.  He has 0 cards in hand and takes 3 damage first.  We both take 3 damage each turn, but he took it first.

I should get 6/0 here.

Let me know if I was moronic in my calc.

The First one :
3-3 vs Mouth When mouth starts he plays chalice for 0 and Levelzero can,t lay lotus.
0-6 vs Haro : Chamber of Torture outraces the 5 damages, even when dragon starts...

I'm probably a mug for doing this, but...

1) As currently stated, my points add up to 85, not 88.

2) I only go 4/1 against Josti's ManaBurn.dec. (Going first, he drops Lotus/Mongoose and takes 1 mana burn. Glowrider and Mongoose stare at each other.)

3) I go 0/6 against Lyhrrus's Little Black Bag.dec. (Black Knight has first strike AND protection from white; Glowrider doesn't stand a chance.)

My total ends up as 82; I drop 3 places.  

So, as I suspected - I should have played LotusRackBalance instead of hosing it. Bah.
I don't think this format is unreasonable. Maybe we could do it again some time.

Oh, and for the next tournament - does this mean Dark Ritual, Elvish Spirit Guide etc are legal?

Damn, forgot a certain player can refrain from playing the vineyard...

But against the edict: when you start, you can get in one hit before his knight is in play. Your rider prevents him from edicting, so IF he attacks every turn, you kill him. By not attacking he can prevent this. If he starts, his knight is on the table before you can attack, so there you lose. So 4-1, not 6-0.

Changing results, again...

As for the new format: ESG and ritual are indeed legal, as you can see by the banned list in the other topic.\n\n

In all seriousness, when I was thinking of the deck, I thought of the old maysonet balance-rack based decks, and decided against the naming convention.  

My reasoning is simple: that small idea was indeed responsible for my deck submission, but my theory was that many more people would be playing the deck - and similarly with the internet, something came from nothing (nearly) overnight!  

Plus, I submitted my entry first.
