To those who detract from Chains and/or relegate it to the sideboard:

Some cards, such as Ancestral, are simply broken. Yet many, many cards are not broken in and of themselves, but have the potential to be devastating in the right matchups. Chains is one such card, and when it works, it dramatically changes the game more than most two casting costs cards can. Maindecking chains is no more crazy than TNT maindecking Blood Mooon.

While the New England metagame is in a constant state of flux, one virtual constant is the presence of a large number of control decks. Various blue-based control decks are always being played here. That makes Chains a great choice for this metagame.
