It occurs to me, that Black vise is missing from all landstill builds I have seen, and I think that it is a valuable card int he deck.  It can get insane if you have your opponent under a standstill lock, especially is you have no man lands in play, at the very least, it forces them to break the standstill much earlier.  The only disadvantage is that it isn't great with disk.  Regardless I still think that it's worth being in the deck.

I understand your reasoning but i think that you should have posted some sort of decklist or extensive reasonings as to why.  You did give some information defending your point but not very much.   Could you give us something else to work with?  I like the idea myself but this is the open type 1 forum.  something without any extensive backup doesn't belong here.

As for the concept itself, what would be pulled in this possible build of landstill?  How would the build look and would it accomodate the addition of black vise in it or would it just be a "win more" card that nevy's disk would destroy?   If that's the case, it's not a necessary card.

Black Vise is not needed in Landstill.

A smart player will break a Standstill as soon as possible (most cases, some exceptions apply).

There is a neat thing you could do though, which is break your own Standstills and make your opponent take Vise damage during upkeep.

Magi, I don't think that last bit is such a great idea.  Landstill relies quite heavily on card advantage - your opponent is more than likely going to appreciate getting 3 cards in return for 3 damage.  Landstill needs the card advantage in a bad way to outweigh current or future threats.

Breaking your own Standstill offsets the ratio of threats to your ability to deal with them.  Would you rather get 1 more counter and 2 cards vs. their one spell (which you could then answer with that counter), or make them take 3 damage in return for no return on investment and their getting more spells to play?

Of course, this whole discussion is really "just saying" - you just wouldn't run Black Vise in this deck in the first place.

Not so good in Landstill.

Dynamite in Gay Red/Fish. Both decks are centered around mana denial, and when your opponent sits on that many cards they end up taking plenty of pain. I tried it in my last tournament. You'll see the results on Starcity soon, but let me just attest to 2 games made far shorter thanks to the little doll.

My whole "break your own landstill thing" is sort of like a little thing to do if you've got the game in the bag or whatever...it's not like you'd need to do that anyways.
