In my opinion, this card isn't good enough for T1 at the moment.
The main thing is there's no cards I would take it out for.  In normal aggro, it's too slow and works against null rod, in MUD/Stacker/Stax, there's nothing worth taking it out for, and Fire/Ice much more easily solves the problem in most cases.  It is a good card IMO, but in a non-budget T1 deck it can't compete for a spot as well as different cards.

I am testing this in my Gay/R build, to replace Null Rods in aggro matchups. Fire/Ice can't stop the fat that comes out these days, and if I need to fire something, I can lavamancer it anyway. The SFI is there to take out the big things-- the Juggs, the Wurms, etc. It protects my gameplan against REB as well. Definitely worth experimenting with to shore up a bad matchup.

And Null Rod is essential for Fish, especially in the Tog matchup. I beat JP when I played him thanks to resolved Null Rods. Mana Crypts didn't hurt the cause either! The key in Fish is to disrupt like hell. Null Rod their moxes, Waste their land, Stifle their fetches and strips. Then you can lay down and win.

So, is there any deck that would use this other than Stacker?

This would be a great choice in Broodstarrunner.dec, a deck which doesn't get enough respect for what it's worth, though it should have earned it by now with its winning in Hadley today, and placing second in the Cape recently.

Not sure, funny that I didn't heard any-one calling Suicide yet, (okay I saw the word negator once). This card is so amazing, in theory it solves alot of suicide's  problems. Burn, Lack of card-adventage, Agrro

the mana-base is used to heavy CC. Shade's, wretches, disruption.. uicide can take this card up quit easy if its for the CC+equip-cost.

Prod. red really is nice, negator is a nice choice, but any other thread will do since you can now block anything, and when attacking you deal +4 dmg, take out a treath most of the time and draw a card. very nice and we can re-equip after that having a strong blocker again..

How-ever, like fish Suicide is in love with his Null Rods. Rods won me more games then any other card in this deck and cutting them really hurts. but it is NOT imposible. Kegs can do a nice job too, and if you really don't like that, this card can maybe played in Chalice Black wich is using CotV. I haven't tried it in Chalice Black yet, but Suicide with Kegs and SFI's is really dointg a better job beating agrro.

For Fish, I tried them, saw my Curiosity-engine dying, my null Rods disrupting myself... cutting any of these really sucked. I don't think Fish can pick this sword up, Fish is a big pile of Synergy and SFI ain't working there.

I tested against it a little bit, and i'm suspecting that the sword is a win more card.

It's surely insane when you can equip it turn 2, but so are 2 jugs.

When there's no creature on board it's a dead card.

It does have its merit of being a tog stopper, but that's about it. Jugs don't need to be ophidians at the same time to win.

Right, but you can normally only run 8 4cc creatures.  The Sword lets you run more like 11-12.

Personally I do not think that this fits as well into Broodstarrunner as many of the already used cards.  If it were to fit in there what would be cut?  I tried toying with the idea, but I could not see cutting any cards other than thirst for knowledge.  IMHO, thirst is strictly better than the sword in this deck.
