Didn't Wizards just get finished taking stuff like this away from Blue? Adding the word "Psionic" to the card name does not a blue card make. This turns any creature you control into Goblin Sharpshooter with an activation cost. It needs to be red.

Okay. I have no more objections. The ability is strong, but having an activation cost makes sure it's not too powerful, unlike Goblin Sharpshooter, which will mow down a weenie horde of any size, for free. The casting cost is aggressive, but not inappropriate, although I think {R} would also work, if there are any concerns about the power level of this card. Having an activation cost of , however, makes it virtually unsplashable, anyhow. Being playable as an instant is interesting, but as far as the surprise factor goes, it's not likely to yield more than 1 or 2 damage on the turn it's played - at a cost of 5 mana that turn, 2 damage is nothing to write home about. |

Looks fine to me, but is there any reason to have the playable-as-instant ability there? It obviously makes it better - it makes any card better, just like adding "draw a card" - but I don't see any real reason to add it. Stuff like Cho-Manno's Blessing and Alexi's Cloak more than double their strength by being instant-playable, but this really doesn't make any difference. I say just cut off that line (with a possible corresponding reduction in cc) and it'll be perfect.

Well, compare it to Psionic Gift. It costs mana to activate, which should outweigh the potential for multiple activations. I think the lower cost should be fine. |
