Honestly, I don't even think that this is that bad!  I mean, it's very difficult to obtain S-Chinese Foil cards, let alone entire playsets.  The REAL overpriced recent auction is the PSA 9 Beta Llanowar Elves that sold for like $90!!!

That auction was hardly surprising. The supply of S-Chinese foils to the rest of the global market is exteremely limited and the demand is quite high (cause after all, they ARE the coolest cards around. It doesn't get more pimp.). I'm kinda surprised it didn't go even higher.
