@Alfred: The entire thread has involved pretty complicated cards.
I'm not sure what you think mine does, but it's simpler than most of them - it's just an enchant creature card that grants abilities and power to the thing it enchants, like Gaea's Embrace or whatever. The only complicated thing is that it grants different amounts depending on which card you've imprinted.

As for the static abilities thing, maybe the best solution is to copy Death Mask Duplicant, i.e. make a list of abilities it can copy?

Symbiotic Strength
GG
Enchant Creature
Imprint - When Symbiotic Strength comes into play, remove target creature you control from the game. (The removed card is imprinted on this permanent.)
Enchanted creature gets +X/+X, where X is the imprinted card's power.
Enchanted creature has flying if the imprinted card has flying. The same is true for first strike, trample, haste, fear, and all activated and triggered abilities.

Putting "all activated and triggered abilities" on a card is going to be far too complex for the average player (they can't even understand stifle).

However, that version looks like it works, so I'm for it.

This whole symbicant business is just WAY too complicated. It's a rules nightmare, it has too many lines of text and most players won't be able to understand what it does. Instead of going with the original idea and making it make sense rules-wise, why not just change the card fundimentally and make it simpler.

Basically the idea is very very simple. Put all your creatures in a big pile. The pile is fat and can do anything that any of the creatures in the pile can do. The trick is in doing this using the rules. In fact the average Timmy would understand it all too well and Spike would ignore it. The problem is Timmy with a rules book (think FEB players) likes doing things that hurt judges brains.

I think that it is probably better to close this than to make a card that causes a host of rules problems. I think everyone understands the intention but implementation causes an ugly card that is a rules timebomb.

Can anyone save Simbicant?
