Mods: if this is in the wrong place, please move it.

Question:
If my opponent has a Chalice of the Void on the table with 2 counters on it, and I am holding a hand full of 2cc spells...

and my opponent casts a Trinisphere...

can I now cast my spells under the Chalice?

No. The mana cost at the upper right corner is still 2, and that's what Chalice checks. If I play a Chalice for 0, you can still cast FoW's for ACC.

Technically, you can still cast them (unless they've been Meddling Mage'd or Null Chamber'd), but they will become countered.

hmmm.  That's in the "Community/Rumors" section.  I didn't see that (because I never visit Community/Rumors for Gameplay related material.

Why on earth is the Rules Forum located in such a bizarre place?

Yes, this I knew.  I have cast spells under Chalice to grow a Dryad, knowing that the spell would be countered.  In the case of CotV and Trinisphere on the table simultaneously, I wondered if the Trinisphere changed the casting cost.  This is because the way I have seen Trinisphere described is: "Spells now cost a minimum of 3. For example, if the casting cost is U, it is now 2U"

Thanks.
