Stumbled across a Cannibal Corpse album and that gave me an idea. Don't know if there is an ability similar to this one.

The part I feel needs the most work is the casting cost. Well, feel free to discuss. I would also like to make it an enchant world because the name feels like it, but I don't know if TMD members still do enchant world.

I think it would be more appropriate if its controller lost life equal to the creature's power or toughness. It is also symmetrical (which means less than it used to), but I think that at   {B}, it is a decent, but not awesome card. I think it needs to be worded differently, though: Whenever a creature would go to the graveyard from play, remove it from the game instead. That creature's controller loses life equal to its (power/toughness/converted mana cost). |

I think that losing life equal to CMC fells more on target because as I see it, mana is the "energy" used tosummon the creature and when the dead creature is "mutilated", this energy hurts the mage. I know it's super cheesy, but that's how I feel it. It couldn't be the power because a dead creature cannot use its power to hurt the master, and for the toughness, well I'm out of arguments.

That would be like a triggered ability/replacement effect hybrid. You'd need to make it either:
If a creature would be put into a graveyard from play, remove it from the game instead. That creature's controller loses life equal to it's converted mana cost.
Or:
Whenever a creature is put into a graveyard from play, remove it from the game. That creature's controller loses life equal to it's converted mana cost.
Templated off Yawgmoth's Will and Planar Void, respectively.
As for the card itself, I like it. It's has similarities to Angelic Chorus, or rather, it serves as an interesting foil (although they're not exact opposites.)
There's nothing especially wonderous about it, but it's a good, solid card. More directly: it's the kind of thing that actually gets printed.

I'll just make one off topic post. Stijn, maybe you could come up with a card for every Cannibal Corpse album in existence and maybe for every song (except maybe for I Cum Blood). Eaten Back to Life (instant) Butchered at Birth (questionnable though) The Bleeding (creature) Vile Gallery of Suicide (enchantment) Bloodthirst (instant) Gore Obsessed (srocery, instant) The Wretched Spawn (creature) All albums name would fit. I will call this the Cannibal Corpse cycle Seriously, I believe it should be an Enchant World instead of global enchantment. The name fits well for an enchant world as it seems to be a unique place where you just don't want to end up in. I just don't know if enchant worlds are accepted for TMD card set. |

We actually have a minor enchant world subtheme going on. We've made a bunch, and I made a tutor for EWs and a hoser, too.
