So I know there are a few Alien fans among the regular denizens here at TMD. Are you guys planning on seeing the new Alien v. Predator movie? If so, is it a popcorn muncher or could it be a good film? Ugh...Paul Anderson of Resident Evil fame is the director. Thoughts?

I am a big fan of movies with the word "versus" in the title. They should make a boxset of these flicks: Jason v. Freddie, Alien v. Predator, King Kong v. Godzilla, and Kramer v. Kramer...uh...maybe just the first three.

I've only seen the trailers on the intraweb so far since the movie will only be on screens in France in November but I'll go see it FOR SURE. It looks awesome Go Go Go Aliens ! Also, the best "vs" movie is probably Bubba Ho-Tep, aka. Elvis Presley vs The Mummy.

While I'm going to see it, it's not like I'm expecting it to be the next Mean Girls or anything.

Nigga, please. Lindsay Lohan is mad hotter, and had I not left my physical form behind when I transcended and became a being of pure energy, I'd have hit it.

No way, Lindsay looks like a little girl still while Hilary Duff has just blossumed the hell out! Also, Leigh-Cook beats Lindsay hands down.

You guys might like the 7 minute short film by Sandy Collora(sp?) titled "Batman: Dead End".
It's real people with the Joker/Batman/Predator/Alien and is totally awesome. You can download it by running a Google search for "Batman Dead End".
My brother did the Storyboards for it.
Dave.

I vote Lohan for HOTTT. And this from a man who digs the blondes pretty consistently.
It is, however, nice that PennyLane has joined the ranks of us forum dwellers again.

Look, if you were telling me, "I'd do them both, as long as I had a paper bag handy for Lohan" then I might understand. But otherwise, Hilary is by FAR the hottest, so what if her REAL breast are smaller than the volleyballs Lohan had surgically installed in her chest.

I voted for Lohan because of Freaky Friday. She didn't have a bunch of crap on her face in that movie and I still wanted to hit that. That's the true measure of how attractive a chick is: how she looks without a ton of makeup. I love it when I roll over in the morning and don't get the sinking feeling that I just made sweet sweet love to the elephant man. Duff is just another Random Hot Blonde; you can't tell her apart from any other Random Hot Blonde in a crowd. And to those of you about to call me a pedophile: the age of consent in NY is 17.

Sci-fi. Definitely. Horror was a totally different genre at the time. Alien introduced horror elements into hard science fiction.

Bram,
Interesting perspective. I always viewed Alien as a Horror movie that took place in outer space. The movie Alien had the intention and ultimate cinematic goal of scaring the crap out of you. My point is that the movie wasn't centered around sci-fi. Instead it's centered around this monster. I wonder what section Blockbuster or other Video stores put this movie into.
Sidenote: If you likes Alien, read the short book by A. E. Van Vogt called "Voyage of the Space Beagle".

I decided to hijack the thread when I discovered I couldn't vote for the Olson twins. Hang on, you went to a Duff vs. Lohan vote-off and were actually surprised you couldn't vote for Mary-Kate and Ashley? No wonder Bush is president...
